Mob Land - new series starting on Paramount this Sunday - starring Tom Hardy, Pierce Bronson & Helen Mirren. As a fan of the genre I'm hoping for an entertaining series

Helen Mirren is one of my all time favorites. She is like a chameleon in every role she plays.....she becomes the character

She has been fantastic in 1923

I haven't seen anything remotely good from him after Lock Stock and Snatch. He is living off the glory of those two.

Funny you should mention that. I was watching last night (on DVR) and mentioned to my wife that her and I would get along fabulously! Agreed. Great actress and I love her role in 1923.

I also thought Sherlock Holmes I & II and King Arthur were excellent and well worth watching. Okay, they're not gangster films. I like his films.

we watched the first two episodes which have dropped so far and we are hooked. This is really a guy's show as it is a no holds barred between two mob families in the UK which hate one another and vie for control of distribution of Fentanyl and cocaine in London

Helen Mirren is indeed another chameleon in this role as she plays Maeve who is Conrad Harrigan's (Pierce Brosnan) wife and she seems to be the mastermind. Tom Hardy plays Harry Da Soza who is Conrad's number one man and is the liaison between the two families when Tommy the son of Richie Stevenson (who is the leader of the other family) happens to go to a bar with Eddied Harrigan and never comes home. Conrad charges Harry to find the son and clear Eddie Harrigan of any wrong doing.

If you're a guy and likes mob movies where death comes easy, this shows is for you. Episode three drops tomorrow. and I am looking forward to it

Highly recommended, but not for the meek at heart, as determined by the opening scene of episode 1

Agree, it's been good ; and, I like how the characters have been developed and fit nicely in and off each other

Agree....excellent series so far.

Episode 3 is in the bag and all I can say is that if you're not watching this series you need to

Ive never seen Helen Mirren in a role such as this as she is the de facto leader of the Kerrigan family

Tom Hardy shines in his role as he is the Ray Donovan of the Kerrigan family as he is forever "the fixer"

Tommy Stevenson should never have gone with Eddie Kerrigan.

This show is on adrenaline in every scene. Definitely a must watch

We are waiting for more episodes to drop before we start watching. Mirren and Hardy are two of my favorite actors.

In the meantime we have been watching Bosch Legacy, Handmaids Tale, Ludwig, long Bright River and best of all The Pitt..

OOPs had one wrong title

There are actors and actresses who are just way above most all.
they are the ones who become the needed characters.
she is able to morph as is the pierce Bronson.
they make the show not in themselves but who the part is written for.
this allows the director to make what they want.
to me it’s the Al Pacino compared to Robert dinero
both amazing but Al P is the one to me who does all and becomes all.
just my thoughts

I understand that method as I too prefer it but we stumbled upon this show and we are riveted
