Some people here seem to have thinner skin than the Hfiman 1000 Nanometer Diaphragm https://youtu.be/fzyDw9o0pzQ and in the case of Blizzard see ferocious giants where there´s only windmills, this is coming from a just arrived outsider with no affiliations here. Some of you are rude and disrespectful and try to blame Blizzard for stirring things up when it´s your own intransigence that give this and other threads the perfume of sulphur. Agree to disagree and move on, even certain Amazonian tribes who´ve barely seen other human beings know of your disregard for anything Blizzard and this antagonism is unfair, I doubt any of you would endure such treatment without lashing back with profanity.

Well I'm 100% open to anything that can be preformed on a PC to make the hardware end as simple and pure as possible. Now that I've decided to go 100% chipless DSD, I want to learn all I can about filter algorithms that can be handled on software the make the best out of it. Jussi and HQplayer has really opened my mind to the possibilities

. Perhaps you should start a thread we can discuss software based filter algorithms in detail?

The method I was proposing would disrupt here too many people's little back garden - the various Trinity, DcS, MSB...
and it is also too technical for many users.

How is it not true? Half of the Lampi components are simply DIY modules from third parties. Let's look at the Amber for instance, it's just a budget DIY 9018 kit from DIYINHK:

Now look at the innards of the gg and tell me what you see? Amber is unlike any other lamp dac. Even the receiver chip is heavily modded on most lamps, as well as other parts. the way the dac chip is implemented is never standard...

Don't get me wrong DIYINHK makes great kits for the price. I picked up this AK4490 kit from them. Supposed to kill the 9018 unit. My intentions are to build it into a portable battery powered unit with Hypex class D amps and Scan-Speak full range drivers. But just haven't gotten around to it. I have a Dexa Discrete opamp for it. Still haven't listened to it though.

Flat at listening position is terrible sounding. If thats what he likes , no bass , shrill treble ..so be it .. how anyone can evaluate a dac under such conditions is beyond me.

You probably hate IC opamps. This is a discrete opamp. Big difference in sound. But 50x the cost of the IC opamp this DAC came with, the NE5534.

I explained that to you already. It obviously went in 1 ear and out the other. Or else you never even read it.

Yes when you have a speaker like yours with a single 5" mid running from 220hz up and a skinny baffle, no wonder you need your "house curve"

Those 11" side firing woofers running up to 220 Hz simply won't give you the coherence between 100-350 hz at the listening position without your "house curve"

I don't build speakers like that anymore. I do everything in pairs. 1 to cover the full range up to the tweeter, and the other to cover the baffle step diffraction. And I never go from a 5" right to a big woofer, especially side firing. I'll always go to dual 7's, then a big woofer or 2.

Never said they were rubbish. But no matter how good of a designer you are, your not gonna be able to defy the laws of physics. There's different ways to do things, he did things his way, and I'm doing things my way. I've been building speakers for 20 years and not a single person who's ever heard, or bought speakers from me has ever said anything but they are stunning. I have guys calling me up that I sold speakers to 15 years ago who say they will never sell them, still the best they heard. So I don't need verification from you on how I should be doing things.

I'm shocked that they use 100% Taiwanese Bennic Xover parts in such an expensive speaker. I won't even use those for Zobel networks.
