Music That Speaks to You.

There are so many. But as I sit here, these have come to mind first:

Let it Be - every time I've faced difficult times or adversity in my life, I seem to listen to it
Here Comes the Sun - I'm an optimist so this usually follows
The Wind (Cat Stevens) - especially the lyric, "I let my music take me where my heart wants to go"

Beethoven and Mozart - GOAT(s)
The Russians - Big T, Rachmaninoff, Shostakovich, Prokofiev, etc.
The Shoes - Schumann and Schubert
The French - Saint-Saens, Faure, Debussy, Ravel

Not a whole lot in my library actually "speaks to me" but here's one that does in motivating sort of way. I really like this artist as he comes out with some nice stuff. This is his attempt at Celtic. The first 90 seconds or so is a bit of a warm up.

Mary Chapin Carpenter -Stones in the Road
Mary Black -Ellis Island
Emmy Lou Harris - All My Tears
Michael Ruff- What Kind of World is This
Don Henley - Boys of Summer
Joan Armatrading - Joan Armatrading.
Lyle Lovett -She’s Already Made Up Her Mind and North Dakota.
Frustration reliever - L7 - Shitlist .....

I'm an optimist too. I'm wondering what you think of this version of "Here Comes the Sun":

Yeah, I listen mostly to classical, lately also being on a French binge (Debussy, Ravel, Messiaen), as well as on a Haydn binge. That composer never ceases to astonish me. Also love modern avantgarde -- Stockhausen being my absolute favorite (a giant among composers), but so many others as well.

All this music, and much more, speaks to me.

Schubert: Death and the Maiden and Quintet (not Trout).
Rush: Losing it and Countdown
Tord Gustavssen: Remelt and whole The Tunnel album
Prokofiev: Romeo and Juliet and Violin Concerto 2
Britten: Violin Concerto
Led Zeppelin: Since I’ve been loving you
Blue Maqams
Nik Baertsch: Mosul 35

Thanks for pointing out this cover version of "Here Comes the Sun". If you are on a French classical music binge, I highly recommend the works of Camille Saint-Saens. I love piano music and he was a master. I'm also starting to explore French Opera.
