Hence the term “ one man’s passion is another man’s poison”Everyone has identified qualities in their system. Otherwise we would find this hobby pointless.

Finally. You said it. Natural sound is a type of sound. Nothing more, nothing less.
Everyone has identified qualities in their system. Otherwise we would find this hobby pointless.
My position is that some degree of intelligence is essential for a conversation and if individuals can’t even comprehend the gist of the title then the rest are better off without their participation.
Agreed Al. I think David’s point was that I identified a type of sound from my system and named my system thread with that in mind. You identified the sound of your system and named your system thread mini monitors and subs. I could’ve called my thread corner horns. I ssimply chose a different approach.
That’s one of the things that makes the hobby interesting.
I read it as you are "monitoring the sound of subwoofers" and not listening to the music.Except that the title "My monitor/subwoofer system" describes the technical means of sound reproduction, not the sound that I identify with my system.

Do you really think so?IMO, more important to natural sound than the speakers!
I personally found Peters "Natural sound" thread title very humble compared to his previous " Sublime Sound" system thread ! Nobody had problems with Pass Labs and Magico receiving that accolade !Except that the title "My monitor/subwoofer system" describes the technical means of sound reproduction, not the sound that I identify with my system.
I thought people are free to choose the title of their own threads using whatever criteria they choose. I guess I was mistaken.
Honestly Al, I have no idea what you’re arguing for here. This is not about intelligence, David. There will never be agreement on what constitutes natural sound of a system, and there will always be different understandings of it, see my post. That holds even among people who all have unamplified live music as reference.
Having followed Peter's journey over the last two years, I had initially no problem with his thread title. It seemed natural . Yet I can understand the criticism, which probably would have come upon anyone who had called their system thread "Natural Sound".
Dear Graham,
Arguing what’s natural or not is a moot point and has no relevance to anything discussed here and it adds nothing to the conversation. “Natural” is a descriptor used by the OP and others to describe attributes of a system and a type of sound quality. “Natural” is as valid a term as “Living Voice”, ”Living Stereo”, “His Masters Voice”, etc., etc..

Not sure about that Tim we seem to have a few touchy feely members here who don't seem to get over it !Exactly - treat it as a proper name and all this gooey nib nab about whether music is natural goes away.
You lost weight !View attachment 79091
This music is not unnatural I say… I was just practicing a little satyr… and yet still they completely pan us
Lol, just a picture of me going out with a bit of comedy.

No, they just want to debate it freely, as they do in other WBF threads.
BTW, Peter just added an interesting point, the direct influence of Vadimir Lamm in "Natural Sound".
