From what I’ve seen of the last few Suns games they have looked terrific without KD. He will prove very valuable where he is now
Suns (lots of them ) have been to Finals with the Bucks. Add KD into that team it is like a triple souped up engine. He can score at will, any time of the game. He showed that in the last 2 Finals trip, nailing 3s from way out at crunchtime. Very disciplined and determined player.I have to see a game between the Nuggs and Suns before I make any proclamations. Suns have been to the big dance. They won’t have many more chances with this existing team
Excellent read.based on what I am seeing with KD and the Suns, I feel this year will be an uphill struggle for the Warriors and that the Suns have a much better chance of going the distance.
Warriors know playoff push, title repeat hopes are now or never
Injuries, defensive struggles and a poor road record have stymied sustained success for Golden State in 2022-23. Can it get things together in time for the playoffs?

Am I the only one who expected he Clippers to be a team good enough to compete in the West
I have been saying for years that Lue is over his head in LA and has no idea how to coach Kawhi or George and their contracts are up soon. Ballmer has the money but he does lack patience and to me this year the Clippers are the biggest disappointment. I would have fired Lue 2 years ago. I would be surprised if Ballmer didn't make changesYes
My buddy is close to the team and he was incredibly optimistic this season but they just don't play as a team. Lue has to go. The front office got them some players at the deadline but he can't integrate them. And obviously signing Russ when they were already playing so well is a disaster, no matter what his stats are. You can't let the players run the team.
Plus they are cursed by Sterling still. Not sure what voodoo it will take to overcome that.
Right now I see WC finals as Nuggs and Suns.Watching Kawai and PG I can't help but accept that their defensive zip has waned. They get there buckets but the reaction times and twitch are such that they are above average but not quite elite. Sad because the idea was for us to witness the apex of down and dirty lockdown D. Sigh.
Dallas is so predictable. Even their second unit is predictable. We all know what THAT means in the playoffs. Much as I love Doncic he slows the pace more often than not. It's probably a combination of not having that many set plays where his teammates could start moving without the need of his direction or maybe he just really needs an extra split second to make up his mind. Makes them easy to scout with or without Kyrie. You know what Kyrie is going to do too.
You can't stop them but you can make them inefficient. It will gas them out too.
I'd be shocked actually if Denver didn't come out of the West. Murray back and Gordon's new role in the dunker's spot, Jokic having three easy choices, pass to one or the other or use his own elite scoring ability. Bench looks good enough. How they'd deal with the different styles of Milwaukee and Boston, I have no idea but they surely will give any western team Suns included a hellish, scrappy, physical grind. Grizz are going to need Adams back.
I'm not counting the dubs out for sentimental reasons and well, they show signs here and there. I just don't feel like they have enough time to get the humpty dumpty mess of player's injured all put back together in time. They are so small that if they get even a little sloppy with the ball, it'll cost them 10 or more points a game they need to make up.
There were many times I rooted for Denver in the past, even counting the 90s days. But like the Buffalo Bills, they never won the big thing. It's a good year this year for them to do so.Watching Kawai and PG I can't help but accept that their defensive zip has waned. They get there buckets but the reaction times and twitch are such that they are above average but not quite elite. Sad because the idea was for us to witness the apex of down and dirty lockdown D. Like Doc said when he was fired after the Bubble series, if you think I'm the problem, Lue was also beside me, something like that.I have been saying for years that Lue is over his head in LA and has no idea how to coach Kawhi or George and their contracts are up soon.
