I was quite amazed that JJ Redick is the rookie head coach with Nate McMillan ( 19 years as HC) and Scott Brooks (12 years as HC) as his ass’t coaches. And speaking of DEI, Lakers also have a female ass’t coach Lindsey Harding
I’m watching the Lakers getting beat up by the Wolves as the first comes to an end with Wolves leading 36-23
The big news for me however is as woke as Adam Silver and the league was last year it’s been eclipsed this year. DEI has caught up with the league as the first nonbinary transsexual referee is on the floor tonight. Nuff said ….. pronouns used “they”.
and as the season begins, Clippers are again smarting from yet another Kawhi injury. PG IMO was smart to leave. Clipps are just not destined to win it all in any foreseeable future
Report: Kawhi Leonard to miss start of season to rehabilitate right knee
The Clippers star has been dealing with ongoing inflammation in his surgically repaired knee since 2019.

The most interesting division to me before the season start is the Southwest.
Are San Antonio and Houston on track for a playoff berth? Wonder the impact of CP3 and Barnes.
Houston is of interest to me because of Steven Adams.
Is this a bounce back season for Memphis?
If Zion is healthy, will New Orleans progress? Will they keep Brandon Ingram? How will Dejounte fit in?
Is the Dallas bench too thin? Will Klay find his range and effectiveness?

I dont see San Antonio in a playoff berth this year
CP3 IMO has become a journeyman without a ring
Houston is on the brink ....I'd love the Lakers to re-acquire the Lakers . I always liked him. Dallas had an epic year and I hope Klay gets them a little bit deeper. but having said that IMO the playoffs will once again have to go through Boston
The Lakers sadly will be fodder for the league with the dad and son show
I agree Steve that Boston are the front runners in the East.
Could see Orlando making the Conference Finals.
Maybe Cleveland if Kenny Atkinson has something up his sleeve.
A little surprised but not impossible for the Heat, Bucks or Pacers to get there.
The 76ers completely depend on the health of PG and Joel.
And New York? I can't see them getting past the semi finals.
Why?
Tibs plays his starters with heavy minutes.
With a weakened bench this year, can't see it being any different.
OG healthy helps.
If they are all still on the floor come playoffs though, the Knicks could seriously challenge Boston.
I have to admit that the Lakers played a very solid opening game of the season tonight as they easily defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves at home and leading the entire game.
Wolves were missing KAT IMO as Randle was dud
