New Album & The Beginning of Basketball Season

Splitter hasn't been the same since LeBron had the massive block against him. He looks to have lost his confidence

He was so hesitant in his move to the basket yesterday that 3 or 4 of his shots were blocked by LBJ

Agreed, while he impressed in the earlier playoff rounds, his confidence and hard court play seems to have gone south back to Brazil.

Even if this was just a rumor, it's one heck of nightmare of a rumor. And that should get Ainge fired if he went ahead with that sort of hiring.

Vinny Del Negro could be Celtics head coach if Doc Rivers leaves

Boston Herald:

Two league sources with direct knowledge of the situation confirmed yesterday that if Rivers does indeed leave, former Clippers coach Vinnie Del Negro will receive serious consideration as his replacement.

Clippers management, known to be interested in Rivers now that his reluctance has become public, was denied permission to talk to him earlier this week, according to one of the sources. Celtics management has now denied two teams permission — the Clippers and Nets. Memphis is also said to be interested, though Grizzlies management has not approached Ainge.

The Lakers have their d'Antoni to bring them down and now the Celtics will have del Negro...

Inhaling smoke perhaps?

Ainge is holding Doc hostage by basically saying to Doc that "you're either coaching the Celts as you're under contract or you're not coaching anywhere"

Not a good tactics with a coach with such a reputation. Doc could just sit out a year and come back to drive Ainge out of his cush GM job.People have not entirely forgotten the Perkins deal and now Doc?

so what's the way out? Keep Pierce and Garnett in order to keep Doc? Seems to me a no win situation either way around

Interesting situation with the Celtics.

Pierce is from LA and Garnett has a home in Malibu so, from a personal perspective, it may be appealing to them. However, if the Celtics don't want them not sure that the Clippers should take them. Hard to make the money work, both for the Clippers and for the players.

One thing is for certain. I don't recommend Del Negro to be the Celtics coach! Long tradition of excellence with the Celtics and VDN doesn't fit that profile.

Would love to have Rivers coach the Clippers but more likely he'll do TV if he doesn't coach the Celtics.

Ironically, 2 guys with "D" all over their names, but no D on their basketball minds. :D

How bout this?...It's getting to be quite bothersome for C's fans.

If Celtics and Clippers can finalize a deal that includes Doc Rivers, Kevin Garnett will waive his no-trade clause, league sources tell Y!

Doc actually has 3 more years in his contract. So it's hard not to move him if he wants out, and if Ainge has good relations with him, he'll try to make Doc (and him) happy.

Definitely not a Del Negro fan here. If he takes over, the C's gets dumped back to the ML Carr days of destruction for the C's.

Reports: Clippers talking trade with Celtics, Lakers

By The Sports Xchange |

While the Los Angeles Clippers and Boston Celtics were talking trade on one front, the Clippers and cross-town rival Lakers were talking blockbuster of their own.
Late Saturday afternoon, ESPN reported sources said the Clippers were considering the idea of trading forward Blake Griffin along with prized young guard Eric Bledsoe in a sign and-trade to land Dwight Howard after July 1.
Earlier in the day there were multiple reports that the Clippers and Celtics were having "deep" talks that would bring coach Doc Rivers to the West Coast as well as Kevin Garnett and possibly Paul Pierce to the Clippers.
Garnett has a no-trade clause that he would waive to make the deal happen.
The Clippers were said to be offering a package of first-round draft picks as well as DeAndre Jordan for Garnett and the rights to hire Rivers. Because Pierce could be bought out, getting him into a Clippers uniform would be sorted out after the Garnett-Rivers acquisition is finalized.
Bledsoe appears to be the key. The Celtics want Bledsoe but the Clippers are balking at including the highly-coveted guard in the same trade.
ESPN also says Bledsoe could be part of a package the Clippers make to acquire Aaron Afflalo from the Orlando Magic.
Earlier in the week, reports surfaced that Howard and Clippers star Chris Paul have talked about playing together next year.
The Boston Herald on Saturday said the Celtics are looking to wrap up a deal quickly, and reportedly want a deal in the next day or two or they might walk away.
The Celtics attempted to acquire Bledsoe and Jordan at the trade deadline but the deal fell through.

Well, a team that has Howard, Chris Paul, Garnett, and even Pierce, and coach by Doc is gonna be pretty impressive. Even looking past Howard's antics, that is still a formidable team. Hopefully Howard doesn't get Doc fired before anything else. :D

Clippers reject Celtics offer; Shaw, Hollins targeted

By The Sports Xchange

Trade talk between the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Clippers reached a stalemate on Saturday, and unless one side decides to budge, Doc Rivers will not be the Clippers next coach.
Instead, the Clippers have set their sights on Indiana assistant head coach Brian Shaw or former Memphis coach Lionel Hollins to take over a team that went 56-26 last season, the Los Angeles Times reports
The Times also said that a rumored sign-and-trade deal between the Clippers and Lakers involving center Dwight Howard and forward Blake Griffin is not going to happen.
The Clippers want Rivers, and Rivers has showed an interest in the job vacated when Vinny Del Negro was fired. In exchange for the right to hire Rivers and forward Kevin Garnett, the Celtics were asking for center DeAndre Jordan, Eric Bledsoe and the Clippers' first-rounds picks this year and in 2014.
"The Clippers don't want to do that," one NBA executive told the Times. "They offered Jordan and a first-round pick either this year or next year, but the Celtics rejected the deal without Bledsoe, the executives said.
Reports on Saturday said the Clippers are reluctant to include Bledsoe in a deal with Celtics because they hope to use him in a separate deal.
"The Clippers are not going to budge," one executive said. "The Clippers don't want to feel as if they are being taken advantage of. Boston wants to hurry up the deal because they know Doc wants to come to the Clippers."

The Celtics are only allowed to rob a team once.
