New Album & The Beginning of Basketball Season

Super hot shooting by the Blazers. Hard to beat them on a night like this.

Lillard had 40 but the biggest surprise for the Blazers was Al-Farouq Aminu with 23.

Aminu was drafted by the Clippers with the 8th pick in the 2010 draft. That was a head scratcher to me and most Clipper fans. When the Clips traded for Chris Paul he was a throw in.

He was a skinny runt back then but he's filled out now and apparently can play NBA basketball.

Report: Curry to claim second straight Kia MVP award

JOSH DUBOW,AP

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) — Stephen Curry is adding a second straight MVP award to his record-setting season.
A person with knowledge of the award says Curry will be announced as the winner perhaps as soon as Tuesday. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the NBA has not revealed the winner.

With his unmatched long-range shooting and slick ball-handling, Curry led the Warriors to an NBA-record 73 wins in the regular season as both he and his team somehow improved after he won the MVP and led Golden State to its first championship in 40 years the previous season.
The honor comes as no surprise as Curry has been the front-runner since early in the season. The only drama remaining is whether he will become the first player ever to win the award unanimously.

"I kind of felt bad today because I didn't tell him congratulations because I felt like I knew since December," teammate Draymond Green told reporters at a shootaround before Game 4 of Golden State's second-round series at Portland.

"It didn't feel like this momentous occasion. It didn't feel that way."
Curry led the league in scoring with 30.1 points per game and shattered his own record for 3-pointers by making 402, becoming the first player in league history to top 300 and 400 in a season.

But Curry is more than just a scorer. He averaged 6.7 assists and 5.4 rebounds per game, led the NBA with 2.1 steals per game, while shooting 50.4 percent from the field, 45.4 percent from 3-point range and 90.8 percent from the foul line.
More than the numbers, Curry put on a show almost every night during Golden State's record-setting season that started with 24 straight wins and ended with the Warriors breaking the single-season wins record of 72 set by Chicago in 1995-96.

With range that extended to halfcourt - and sometimes even beyond -- and the ability to create space for his own shots with his ball-handling and opportunities for his teammates by the way he stretched the floor, Curry made the Warriors offense click.
Perhaps no player has ever had that combination of traits in NBA history. Curry has done it with a baby-faced look and a 6-foot-3, 190-pound frame that led coach Steve Kerr to say that he is able to dominate while looking like "he could be your little brother."

"The way that I play has a lot of skill but is stuff that if you go to the YMCA or rec leagues or church leagues around the country, everybody wants to shoot, everybody wants to handle the ball, make creative passes and stuff like that," Curry said after winning AP Male Athlete of the Year earlier this season. "You can work on that stuff. Not everybody has the vertical, or the physical gifts to be able to go out and do a windmill dunk and stuff like that. I can't even do it."

Curry has become one of the world's most intriguing and popular athletes, playing golf and doing public service announcements with President Barack Obama.
He was the first Warriors player to lead the league in scoring since Rick Barry's 35.6 scoring clip in 1966-67, joining Barry and Wilt Chamberlain as the only players in franchise history to average 30 or more points in a season.

"He's incredible. He's different. He's something that we've never seen before," said Allen Iverson, the 2001 MVP. "We've never seen this. It's crazy to me. Just me being the biggest Michael Jordan fan, to see somebody come around like this, I have my idea of being incredible, you know what I mean. But this dude right here!? It's different. It's a whole different monster."

Warriors need to control Lillard if they want to win in Portland. The guy is good.

Super super feat by Curry in OT. I was just thinking watching the first 3 quarters that he was rusty and a bit weary in his moves. BUT, come OT, the MVP wow'ed us.

I have to admit, being a good husband, I watched Dancing with the Stars with my wife last night. Please don't force me to turn in my man card. ;)

I did watch the last few minutes of the Warriors - Blazers game. Great Q4 and amazing overtime. Curry is incredibe - guess it ony took him a quarter or two to get back to form

It was an amazing game for Steph. After he hit those long 3 pointers and then pumped his chest as he yelled "I'm back, I'm back"

He is an amazing down to earth player who is such a great role model for the league. None of the pomp and bluster we see from LBJ

Interesting that the Cavs have more three pointers in the playoffs than GSW but they forget that Steph was out for 3 games

GSW doesn't seem to have any trouble winning games without him.

well they were down by 16 (21-5) when he came off the bench. Tied at end of regulation and his 17 points in OT to win it. He is a force with which to be contended

Warriors have the luxury of a deep bench which can play small ball or big ball. And any player who can throw in 25-40 points a game is a big plus, for any team. Gotta hand it to Portland for sticking it out despite losing Aldridge, Wes Matthews, Robin Lopez and Batum. That is quite an exodus. Frankly, the only player I've seen much during highlight films in the present lineup is Lillard, but the other young kids are performing very well.

Steph Curry deserved the MVP. Thought I heard on the radio that it was the first unanimous NBA MVP award.

However, for the balance of the playoffs I am declaring my rooting interest in the Cleveland Cavaliers.

This is due to my fond hope that Cleveland wins a pro sports championship for the first time since 1964. Nothing to do with LeBron although I suppose he'll have to perform at a very, very high level for the Cavs to win the title. So, until the end of June, Go Cavs!

Thunder goes up 3-2 on a tough road win over SA.

Westbrook went ballistic, and that man-mountain Adams contributing. Deion Waiters has come of age in this series.
