I am looking to order the box whit the Beethoven 9 Symphony's how is the Recording quality and pressing quality of this 180gr Lps?
In my system it plays pretty much perfect. Zero noise and even the most dynamic passages at the conclusion (with choir) hold together regardless of volume. This may be the best I’ve heard technically. I am not qualified to judge if this is the “best” musically but to me it’s superb.

If you want to get an idea of the musical aspects of this box set, read the review by my favorite classical reviewer, Rob Pennock, who provides a very thorough and informed discussion on the performance and sonic features of the recording, while comparing the digital and vinyl versions.

Nice to see you back posting here, Albert. Hopefully will be back in Dallas in the fall for a session.

I guess Audiogon burned me out, I just stopped everywhere.
?
Some posts at Audiogon are good but all the vital info is here and everyone seems to behave as gentlemen.
?
As for visit, all my Studer cards are off for rebuild, if you come in the fall it should be up and running and hopefully broken in a bit. I assume all new parts will behave like other electronics and improve with a few hours.
?
In any case I would welcome your input on my new A820, especially any tips about calibration. It’s such a different machine than the A810.

Thanks Mike, put an order through! I have finally come to a point in my system that large orchestral shines as much as smaller ensembles, and this ought to be great.

I have number 192, this one is very good. Does anyone know if DG has more reissues of similar quality?

Wow, I am getting this right away! Thanks a lot

My box has just arrived. Hope it sounds better than the Brahms box. As you see only 1884 copies will be made. Better hurry...
