I’ve never been a big fan of vinyl. Too much fluffing about for generally poor returns. And getting way better results from far cheaper digital set ups. I’ve had some decent mid range gear over the years. .
So I decided to have a real crack at it. And the phono was where I found the biggest problem. I bit the bullet and invested in a Boulder 1108.
Factory set “personality cards” and all.
It really is next level. And sounds amazing.IMG_9265.jpegIMG_9266.jpegIMG_9267.jpegIMG_9268.jpegIMG_9269.jpegIMG_9270.jpeg

I think it's great that you're making a very serious go of vinyl playback!

Thanks mate. Its a slippery slope
I have had great results with mid range Shelter cartridges over the years. I love there sound. And recently purchased the Harmony. Its really coming together nicely.
I also got the old guru to do a home set up. Cheap insurance.

What a journey from skepticism to revelation!

The Boulder 1108 truly is a remarkable piece of engineering.
It's fascinating how the phono stage turned out to be the key that unlocked everything for you.
Vinyl does require more attention and investment compared to digital, but in my experience, the sound can be incredibly rewarding.
