New WAMM details

Picture the mechanized parts in Bronze and the baffles in wood, totally bad ass steampunk!

Absolutely gorgeous.

"WAMM Master Chronosonic™ (seen here is the final prototype). There will be subtle changes from this prototype to the shipped production units. We look forward to hearing and reading your reactions."

I think its the culmination of what DW stands for adjustability and resonance free housings(forgot to say papercomp mids for natural sound ) , i did expect a bass tower added to be honest .
The tiny extra mid means it will take part of the audioband from the tw (and mid ?) so the tw can be filtered higher .
fit and finish exxcelent gorgious as always .

PS audiophiles like to fiddle with settings/stuff and thats very much possible with this design lol

Best looking Wilson Audio loudspeakers design. ...In & Out. I would pick gold Sahara dunes desert color, as one of my own color preference.

I agree. It is very good looking, and quite distinctive and different from other designs purporting to be SOTA. I wonder if a dedicated/integrated bass tower, similar to that in Ron's recently ordered Gryphon Pendragon, or in Mike's MM7, was considered.

It's very cool and it will be fascinating to read reports of what it sounds like.

It looks fantastic, but for the flagship I want to see a matching pair of 13" and 15" woofers on top.

The bass towers are coming.

The prototype is shown in Desert Silver with Parchment Gray grill on the side of the MTM (same color combo as my speakers).

Now we are talking. Active amplification? Room integration software?

Are WBF members with Alexandria 2.2 or XLF considering these speakers? Rockitman, Steve, Lloyd, others?

Perhaps a topic for another thread, and I realize that few have heard this speaker yet, but it seems that speakers are one area where things can still improve as designers understand more about materials, crossovers, driver technology, enclosures, etc. Perhaps vintage horn and Apogee lovers will disagree. Electronics, cables, sources are also improving, but perhaps not as fast or to the same degree. Thoughts?

It would be 12 feet tall if that were the case

Yes,, DW has said somewhere his primary goal has always been to create a speaker that can consistently replicate high quality sound in DIFFERENT rooms. Which probably means putting woofers on top (at least 10-11 feet tall speakers) would violate that goal.

I wonder if the new WAMM is more bi-amp or tri-amp friendly than other Wilson's?

just wondering about modestly powered tube amps and how effective they might be?

if I missed that detail somewhere then sorry.

Hell yes Masterchief. Now that looks like it's here to make a statement.

WA hasn't released any specs yet.

The XLF's sensitivity is 93.5 dbs @ 1 watt, so these should be higher.
