NFL Start Of Season

Kaepernick can scramble though

Was that the longest run in 49'ers history?

That's what I read. I thought it was the TD Young had way back when...

anyone see Russell Wilson move the Seahawks past the vaunted Chicago defense in Chicago for not one, but two game winning touchdowns. the Seahawks are now solidly in the lead for the number 2 wild-card spot in the NFC.

we just need to beat the 9ers at our place in a few weeks.

Mike & audioguy:

The Hawks always play tough at Qwest (possibly the loudest end zones in the NFL). Kap got the W in NO but the crowd noise did have an effect. As a 9er fan I say WE WILL CRUSH YOU! But, Carroll has turned things around for you and I won't be betting on this one (save drinks which I always need ;)).

I'm still pissed re the lambs tho...and Fisher's quips.

Skins find a pass rush and beat the G'men!

RGIII is amazing to watch but if he keeps taking the hits like he took last night, he won't last very long. And those hits weren't from getting hit by running but by big holes in his offensive line. It hurt to watch some of those hits.

+1 .. The other thing is that those hits wil make him stif and he will start losinghis accuracy . I watched the game and I must say the Giants Defensive Coordinator will hear it from Tom Coughlin ... The 'Skins ran the exact same plays ...One after the other and there were no adjustments by the defense.. *** kid has a bright future if he protects himself ...

. *** kid has a bright future if he protects himself ...

And he seems to be a very articulate and classy guy. Will probably make a great TV Football analyst after football - let's just hope for his sake that is later rather than sooner!!

Colin Kaepernick still 49ers' QB, Jim Harbaugh says....

No question, this spells the end of the Alex Smith era in SF

By Marc Sessler

Jim Harbaugh told reporters Monday that he hasn't changed his mind at quarterback.

The San Francisco 49ers coach watched the tape of Sunday's 16-13 overtime loss to the St. Louis Rams and came away discouraged by the defeat but encouraged by the overall play of Colin Kaepernick.

Harbaugh said the second-year quarterback will keep his starting job against the Miami Dolphins in Week 14.

"I still feel that way," Harbaugh said. "There was a lot of positives that were in the game. ... Specifically with Colin, especially after the fumble-touchdown, the way he responded, the way our team responded -- again, putting ourselves in a position to win after that -- and, the same could be said after the safety, too.

"He responded with some big plays," Harbaugh said. "... Just in the evaluation, I thought Colin played well."

When the question of Alex Smith bubbled up, Harbaugh paused before refusing to shut the door on the veteran quarterback seeing the field again this season.

"Alex is not out of this," Harbaugh said. "We feel like Alex is -- we've said it before -- he's one of our guys, he's won us a lot of football games, and he'll be preparing himself to play in each of these games every single week. I mean that's what his mind-set has to be, as if he was the starting quarterback."

Harbaugh insisted he isn't grading Kaepernick on a curve or any differently than how Smith was measured. Asked about Sunday's defeat to the five-win Rams, Harbaugh admitted it was a "tough loss," and not a quarterback problem, but a team issue in San Francisco.

"We have to finish games," Harbaugh said.
