Mr Chung of Silbatone had built Audeum Museum in memory of his late father with budget of 150 M USD.



The building was designed by Kuma Kengo.




The top floor of the building has nice view.





They also display rather new vintage speakers dated 1950-1960.





Lot of gramophones are also displayed.



Mr Chung gave explanation of the system. This one is Western Electric 16A and 16B.



Lot of vintage drivers are also displayed.





This one is Western Electric 11A.






Vintage speakers sounds natural with generous dynamics and details.

The shortcoming of it vintage are limited bandwidth, no deep bass and no treble above 12khz.

While I enjoy modern speakers, I would like to have a Western Electric vintage horn system before I die.

If you are die hard vintage speaker fan, this place is must go.

It is located near Gangnam, Seoul.

The admission is free but you need pre appointment for guided tour.

I agree with you.

This place is must for vintage die hart.

I was lucky to get invitation for opening ceremony.








It also display nice collection of cameras.

I deleted some photos and videos since the host does not want some guest to be exposed.

But I had good time with my twin granddaughters in Korea.

Most folks could not afford the vintage collection

But if you are interested in vintage audio, this place is must visit.

There is no admission fee, but you need pre appointment for guided tour through website.

I did listen to 6 actual plays.

But I am not sure what future guided tour will be.

You had better contact them through email about guided tour.

According to homepage, guided tour will last one and half hour.

It will include five actual demonstration.

They also display very old vintage turntables.

There are more things to see in Korea.

After you settle the house, you may consider travel to Korea, China and Japan next year.

Unless some unexpected thing happen, Silbatone will be in Munich next year.

I also consider attending Munich next year.
