Piano videos

What an erudite sound. This could in some regards be peerless, the recording is a marvel and the performance sublime.

No doubt the demurring will overshadow the dedication and despair that this level requires. The grapevine is best employed at the gallows.

Supreme. Kindest regards,G.

self-recorded Audio System videos only, please.

Im posting this from a lovely beachbar at Ilha de luanda / Angola lol
The one and only Keith jarret on Tape .
Piano although with a slightly limited bass output .
At 37 hz - 3 db its basically over .

Sounds like the Koln concert recording! In addition to your system being very performance transparent, you can really hear the limitations of the particular instrument Jarrett rather heroically performed on. Kudos andromedaaudio!

For those interested, here's a link giving a short account of those limitations: https://www.awakin.org/v2/read/view.php?tid=2447

I checked with Tang why this is sounding fuller than his previous videos and why the subs are sounding more integrated than his previous ones where there was a hole in the middle. He rolled the 12AX7 from telefunken to Mullard, and the Mullards are fuller. He did not change anything to he subs. So the valves are playing a big roll (as they often do). .How much the recording is making an impact, cannot say until we hear another one.

Andro's tape is sounding surprisingly good.. Not surprising because it's tape, surprising because it's Andro's system.

Best I've heard his Bionars/system. Delightful recording. Funny how he has the Ayons in the middle.

The 12AX7 and 12AX3 are really the only rollable tube in the ML3. I do not care for Telefunken 12AX7 in the ML2.2. 60's Philips Miniwatt or 70s Sylvania. Have not tried Mullard - they do have a reputation for a bit fuller, sometimes warmer character.

I visited Luanda, Angola, a couple of years ago. It’s an incredibly expensive city because almost everything, including basic food items like milk, has to be imported.

Regarding the video, I didn’t enjoy this one as much as the previous one. To my ear, it sounds like the pitch is slightly off, keys are shifted up, slightly thin, as if the piano is a bit out of tune. However, the sound is smooth and free of distortion, which suggests that both the speakers and the setup are capable of excellent piano reproduction. The dynamics are also impressive, as one would expect from a tape source. The issue I noticed might be due to the tape transfer or something similar.
