It’s extremely dynamic. Not harsh at all when you listen in room. But the recording itself is a bit on the aggressive side/live.Sounds a little aggressive/harsh. Could be the video?
Maybe try something else? It’s extremely dynamic. Not harsh at all when you listen in room. But the recording itself is a bit on the aggressive side/live.
Hello Peter,
Hello Peter,
I enjoyed listening to your video! Just out of curiosity, what is the purpose of the piece of wood that is in front of your fireplace?
Best wishes,
Don
I fail to see (hear) how the sound in that video is appealling in any way. The whole things sounds muddy. But I guess there is something there that escapes me.Oh, that makes sense. Thank you for helping me understand that. I applaud you for trying various things to help you attain the sound that you are seeking! A true testament that everything matters from the recording to the cables, gear, and even the room acoustics.
Best wishes,
Don
To each their own... but, in my case.... when I listened to Peter's video, I truly enjoyed the arrangement of this song. She made it her own and for this reason, it connected with me. It touched me. If the music can trigger my emotions and touch my soul...For me, that is all that matters!I fail to see (hear) how the sound in that video is appealling in any way. The whole things sounds muddy. Fair enough. I don't like the song, so I don't react the same way perhaps. To each their own... but, in my case.... when I listened to Peter's video, I truly enjoyed the arrangement of this song. Thankfully, this can happen for me whether I am listening in a dedicated listening room on a higher system, or via a youtube video and headphones connected to my laptop or even when listening to music on my vintage FM table top vacuum tube radio out in my garage! I consider it a blessing.
If Peter's youtube video was able to touch me via my headphones/laptop, I can only imagine how enjoyable it would be to listen to it in his music room! Thank you Peter for posting your video. I not only enjoy being able to have a glimpse of what other's systems may sound like, but I am often introduced to hearing recordings that are "new" to me.

Yes. The sound of the video is not good. Maybe it's the "nearfield" recording. And I don't see how a wooden plank would make a noticeable difference. Your friends liking the video are not doing you a favor! It seems there is much more to it than simply not liking the song.
