Post your female vocal videos

I've been having some fun playing around with some very old vintage Wharfedale W60's stand mounted two-way speakers that utilize Alnico drivers and were made in England back in the 1960's.

Here's a unique arrangement of It's Alright With Me performed by ReneMarie...

Having some more fun - this time spinning some vinyl - Melody Gardot - on my trusty old Linn LP12/Naim ARO tonearm, playing thru vintage Wharfedale W60's utilizing two-way Alnico drivers, powered by my custom EL-84 tube amp.

Best wishes,

one of my favorite live albums is sara bareilles' brave enough: live at the variety playhouse -- i like it much better than her studio work. here's a fabulous version of the song manhattan. it really shows off sara's incredible voice.

A very nice performance, indeed. I think I would have enjoyed that concert very much.

I've been enjoying this thread, being able to discover new music as well as getting a glimpse of what fellow member's systems may sound like.

This next recording is of Patricia Barber playing Autumn Leaves - one of my favorite interpretations of this great chart. She is not only a veteran jazz artist, but I would imagine she is well known by audiophiles all over the world. I've had the pleasure of hearing Patricia perform live in Chicago for many, many years. I could probably say... "I knew her when..." It just so happens that she gave a live performance at AXPONA this year and so I'm sure the many show attendants enjoyed being able to see and hear her in person.

It case people have never heard this one, I hope you enjoy it! (Please excuse the cameo appearance of my listening buddy - my Golden Retriever, coming in to check on me)

What are these two giant speakers ? (Edit: i read your profile - the are Dunlavy SCIV Signature loudspeakers)

Which ones are playing? I am assuming the Dunlavy, but have just listened on my phone, it's hard to tell... Edit: listened to headphones - definitely thr Dunlavy. I can see how the two speakers are "complementary"...

Nice presentation Tim. It’s not really my kind of music, but there’s a great sense of presence and it’s well balanced. I like the sense of flow and her voice rises effortlessly with good power.
Flow? Care to define what you mean? Rakim has "flow"!

I was not aware that the term had crossed over to be used as an attribute of audio systems.

As for presence, the vocals are drowned out, and the whole thing sounds like "bad digital".

Thank you!

Yes, you are correct... the "giant" speakers are my Dunlavy SCIV Signature's. They are indeed the one's playing in the video. I'm glad that you were able to listen to the video via headphones. I find it gives you a better glimpse of what I might be hearing in my listening room vs just listening thru cell phone/laptop speakers.

I feel that both sets of speakers in my room are very complimentary and I enjoy them both very much.

I appreciate you taking the time to comment on my videos :)

Linda Ronstadt - Get Closer

;-)
Hi tima,

I think I only have one Linda Rondstadt album. If I remember correctly, she is singing jazz and is backed by the Nelson Riddle Orchestra :) I remember loving listening to that record decades ago. I'll have so see if I can dig that one out of my back piles of albums and give her another listen!

You're blessed to have to pairs of highly regarded amplifiers there! I'm curious, if you could only have one pair, which do you think you would keep to pair with your current speakers?

Keep the videos coming!

Best wishes,
Don
