You guys are killing me! My Orions are now due to arrive early November. I'm crossing days off the calendar.

Hi Kris,
Kerem of Absolare demos at Munich with Lyras. Once I heard that system I posted that if one has the money, this hobby does not have to be that difficult. You just copy and paste that system, and (unless you're a box swapper) you are done forever!
First a disclaimer. I had products in the Absolare/Rockport room. The diffuser wall was made by company.Absolare ran with Orion in 2023, we visited the room Friday morning and things were poor. Bass was mush/boom and overall a big disappointment. Didn't go back however many people reported great sound, can only assume they made changes or the system warmed up properly. The Orion's were saved, they sounded terrific driven by Riviera in the Audioquest room.
I think the Lyra is more transparent and has a more refined sound than the Arrakis, but I do not agree at all that it sounds as large as the Arrakis.Lyra . . . sounds as large as the old Arrakis.

I was thinking about it and we both might be right.
Arrakis usually sits in a very lare rooms / dedicated / so might be hard to compare directly In regards to the scale. Lyras tend to be used in a relatively smaller rooms.
I agree 100% with you Ron that Lyra is more transparent and more refined.
Andy simply wanted to create a better speaker overall in a smaller enclosure.
Agree!!!I was always hoping that Andy would do with Lyra what he did with Altair --> Arrakis: make a revised Arrakis using two Lyras, one inverted on top of another one, for a true D'Appolito array design like the Arrakis.
Do you happen to know where I could go hear (either dealer or private audiophile) Absolare Hybrid amps on Lyra?
Super impressive! Thanks for posting. Over to you, Ron! Strangely, the sound was spectacular before 1:05 and then seemed to change after this point. Not sure .
But this looks like a store somwere - AVD HighEnd. Or private home.
Great...was it an interview? Or just a discussion?I had a nice long call with Josh Clark, CEO of Rockport Technologies, yesterday. Andy is good, Josh is working every day managing the team and helping to build loudspeakers. They are selling all of the Orions and Lyras they can make.
Rockport is on a very solid, healthy and growing footing. I'm very happy for them!
Just a telephone call to catch up. I might be bringing a friend up to Rockport because he wants to audition Lyra loudspeakers.Great...was it an interview? Or just a discussion?
You know my two questions then:Just a telephone call to catch up. I might be bringing a friend up to Rockport because he wants to audition Lyra loudspeakers.
But I'd like to do an interview with Andy or Josh!

You know my two questions then:
- Would they consider a double-stacked Lyra to create the new Arrakis in the way the double-stacked Altair did?
- There has been a lot of expansion of the 4-tower designs: Genesis, Stenheim, YG, Gryphon, Alsyvox, Wilson, Evolution Acoustics, Living Vox...would they ever do something similar or design Rockport Subs?
Yes, all fair. I was of course hoping that, like the Altair which when stacked became the Arrakis, that they would do the same for Lyra.As good as this design might be as a future Rockport Flagship, There is very little people that could potentially afford it .
Also they dont need a „Flagship„ to promote the brand . They are on the top without that.
I really like the Rockport decission with Lyra as they wanted to make their flagship smaller so more people can use it in their rooms ( not many have very big dedicated rooms) And being better in many ways than gigantic Arrakis was.
This I believe was much more difficult to design for Andy than creating new in speaker in a much bigger enclosure.
I'd rather Andy try a new turntableYes, all fair. I was of course hoping that, like the Altair which when stacked became the Arrakis, that they would do the same for Lyra.
