I don't know. That frequency range is the cross-over range of the system, so it is a frequency range which naturally attracts suspicion.
I don't hear on my system the focus on that frequency range that I hear from the videos of Peter's system. But left to my own listening I don't think I would hear any issue.
If Al would like some more oomph in the lower midrange, then I'm sure he's right.
You highlighted it as a weakness…not me as I wouldn’t judge that from a video of your system. Do you feel that relative to Peters system or relative to what you hear live? Or both?
I do not understand how the Lampizators take much of the digititis -- but leave all of the music -- even out of terribly recorded 1980s and 1990s rock and pop.
Even the very modest Innuos PULSEmini is significantly better sounding than iPad-as-streamer. The flatness is gone, the thinness is remedied, some nuance returns.

I have listened to Bat Out of Hell my whole life -- probably literally hundreds of times. I always felt the recording overall was a tragic hot mess, and "Bat Out of Hell" (video not posted) with all of its layering and sound effects, probably the worst sounding track of all.
I played the tape, and then I played the Qobuz stream. The tape was the best sounding, most transparent, least congealed rendition I have ever heard. The tape did what tape seems to do: separate and pull things apart better, improve transparency and produce punchy drums. Yet through Vimeo both "Bat Out of Hell" and "For Crying Out Loud" still sound pretty bad.
Last night's experience suggests to me that MikeL is correct to be reluctant about posting videos. At least with poor original recordings, I think the videos generate more heat than light.

i don’t understand the issue. Poor recordings are going to make the system sound poor. System videos are always going to sound less good than the in room real. Maybe what you are saying is that in room makes the poor recording more palatable than the recording of the system, but I don’t see how that is less representative.

not wanting to stir the pot, i have no comment......other than......if members are having fun with system videos then no worries.
personally i do sometimes get in the mood to watch videos but very rarely of home audio system replay. or hifi blog commentary other than Mr. Fremer.....where so far typically i do learn something and am consistently entertained. otherwise i feel later it was a waste of my time. home system videos are very boring and that is what i have my system for. maybe if that was not doing it for me, i might be more inclined to seek other system videos.
i do enjoy hifi shows and hearing other people's systems 'live'. that is different.
On a brighter note (pun intended) I think the brightness issue is totally gone. I think Keith was right all along that the ribbon drivers really needed to break-in.
Right now I am very happy with the Goldilocks tonal balance from the new thinner and narrower absorption panels.
After I get the third AVAA I will run the frequency response measurement again.
There is no ETA on the custom ASC Helmholtz resonator TubeTraps. Art Noxon is using my order as an opportunity to conduct additional research, and to figure out how to increase further the Q of the custom TubeTraps. So this is totally cool, and I greatly appreciate his, and his teams, efforts, but it means that I have no idea when the TubeTraps will arrive.
Ron, on your reports of systems auditioned in person did you provide an assessment of how they did in poor recordings and that the poor recordings were representative of the system
