The studer A 820 can take reels up to 14 inch afaik .
At 7.5 ips thats a long long time of good old analogue playback
That's true. You could record the tracks you like then play them straight through. Then you just pause the tape or get up to change it. fair enough. I will not discuss bathroom or refreshment strategy. For streaming you can access your playlist. You are going to get some exercise with vinyl. Maybe that is a good thing.

My iPhone recording sounds a little edgy, but this Vimeo version sounds more edgy. Does Vimeo compress the audio?

I think I'm hearing a 60 to 65 Hz room bump. So positioning of the speakers will have to work to address that.

I see that on one channel, the towers are side-by-side, and on the other channel one tower is about two inches in front of the other tower.

It's awfully hard to resist stepping on the gas pedal of that amplified woofer system!

Dear Ron,

With a peak / bump at 60-65Hz… Do you find that you then have a dip at ca 30Hz ?

What he really meant is you will.

The electronics will stay the same.
I built a second version of my amplifier, exactly the same but with better parts (and perfectly matched transistors). It went from horribly disappointing to substantially better than the comparison build over the course of two weeks. I've never doubted the break-in phenomenon since.

A little theatrical shading wouldn't be amiss on the left, barndoor. Overall effect is soothing without any coloration. Pleasing to you?

Special light in combination with neutrino enriched special air remains a subject of interest.

Whaoo Ron… very nice picture. I can just fantasize how that big sound will sound in the dark. Some soft slow smokie old jazz, that will take you away to another dimension.. right there… It has to be sooo cool !

Here this early morning, it’s the best cup of hot good coffee and Miles Davis - Kind Of Blue, UHQR 45rpm… and some nuke fission-blue background light…. Not that bad either…

Have great hifi-weekend, Ron.

Cheers

Photons traveling, of course, at the speed of light impinging upon neutrinos, themselves traveling at relativistic speeds and flattening frequency response is of interest, indeed.

Yes, it compresses. How that algorithm differs from YouTube I have no idea but YouTube often sounds surprisingly good. Try uploading to YT and see if it sounds better.

Battery operated sconces. easy to install. Just need a cordless drill and a stud finder.

I do not understand what this means.

BARN DOORS - "Gobos" (light-blocking devices) that attach to studio lights and swivel on hinges (like the doors on a barn) to allow the photographer to control the light's direction and the width of the light beam.

In other words, leaning something non-flammable against the light at a height and angle that still allows what is being projected on the opposite side to shoot over it. Blending a softer less direct source where it strikes lighter colored and reflective horizontal surfaces.

Very temporary and possibly even fun distraction I thought might appeal to you.

I'm sure that any future additions of this nature will be utterly in context with your stated desire of listening to the music you enjoy as many times as possible.
