I find it's good to have references, video, audio sites, friends, etc., most folks do. IME the MoFi One Step SD, Paul Simon and Muddy Waters (which I own) are exceptional sounding.
I used SD (that elevator music for those who can't appreciate phenomenal songwriting and musicianship ;-) ) as an example because that's one of the most internet - discussed and I have multiple all - analog versions which pale in comparison.
OK. Don’t pollute mine with your video debates which have now been rendered irrelevant due to rinse and repeat for 5 years. Your system thread, fyi, is much less interesting than Lagonda’s discussion. You really need to get some quality videos in for us to start paying attention instead of pulling up the same discussions over and over like digital, analog etc.
1) Discussing the audio of videos is an appropriate topic for WBF. Referencing S&M, even in jest, is not.
2) The discussion I started about 15 hours ago which occasioned your posts was a discussion about the recording provenance of a title. There was no discussion about video whatsoever.
3) You don't have a persuasive reply to my criticism about you polluting my thread, so you dust off a long-held grudge not presently in issue?
Discussing videos over and over and ignoring points made in previous discussions is extremely intellectually dishonest. It’s only purpose serves to derail the threads

I didn’t say I haven’t read those references. I said I don’t base my conclusions on them. I never liked MoFi, and most reissues (there are some good ones from classic records)

Ron, regarding the discussion you started, I asked you a question about whether or not you would like the recording any less if you found out it was originally Digital? In response to my post you edited out that question from my post and did not answer it, but I think it is very relevant to the discussion which you started and I am curious to know how you would react? Would you sell the recording if it was originally digital the way you sold your MoFi recordings when you discovered the digital step?
Actually the opposite, some of the best remasters in my experience are Impex, the more recent Mofi and Analogue Productions, 45RPM usually better than 33.3. They are all limited production runs and quite expensive, typically over $100.
However, there are many other remasters, digital and analog. It's a coin toss, some better, some worse.

So, then, why did I sell the digital Mobile Fidelity re-issues?
Because the digital Mobile Fidelitys I bought I had already in AAA versions (and often in multiple AAA versions).
I did compare the digital Mo-Fi UD1S Michael Jackson Thriller to my various AAA versions, and it did not -- to my ears -- beat my Japanese pressing, even though that digital Mo-Fi got rave reviews.
As I have posted several times it is important to distinguish reissues of classical and jazz versus reissues of rock and pop. Your often stated preference for originals of classical and jazz may not necessarily extend to rock and pop.
Watched your video on your new stereo set up. Different universe than me. It must sound heavenly. You put a lot of thought, energy and other things into it. Congratulations ! Maybe you could make a video listening session if you didn’t already

Funny you mention the MoFi MJ, I bought it also and it's worse even than the best digital version I know of. I was pretty surprised and am planning on selling it.
That limited data set is not how the majority of Mofi One Step, AP and Impex sound IME.

I prefer the originals that I have directly compared to remastered new versions. Sometimes it’s a matter of enhancement necessary because the thicker vinyl sounds dull. Then you have a mess on when played back on some systems.
I’m generalizing because I’ve only made 30 or so of these direct comparisons. Most of been classical or jazz, but there have been some rock pop and blues. I agree with Bonzo, I listen for myself and no longer simply take the word of some famous reviewer.
