It’s funny how this has come full circle. Much of audio by many accounts is voodoo. Ron has single handedly (with his sarcasm) making a case and closed that gap in many ways.
….in his own world, even.

Ron is a member of the industry and I think he is having fun. I think his goddess is likely a nice souvenir to remember a wonderful trip to an exotic land.

I know, Peter. I am having fun in the same way! :p
BUT, he was having fun at my expense which I didn’t appreciate, AND he is kinda insulting the community by either not acknowledging that his art influences the sound (at least in theory), or won’t say that he doesn’t hear a difference on way oe the other.
Finally, he can also just say that it’s not important to him all together, which is fine too.

I agree. Ron being a member of the industry is my comment to the full circle. Tweaks and accessories are fully supported and endorsed and promoted by the industry. It reminds me of the thread topic: “everything makes a difference”.

Your full circle comment was very insightful.

to be fair to Ron, he never made a case of serious connection between his 'relic' and hifi performance. only good fortune and feelings in a friendly way. he was just having fun. so now trying to make it something it is clearly not holds no water.

we ought not to take ourselves too seriously. or look for connect-the-dots conspiracy where obviously none exists.

a 'tweak' tangent is always game if you like, but don't look for this as a justification.

can we hear the effect of a 2 foot tall statue sitting on the floor between the speakers? go ahead and go down THAT road. Francisco can supply us with blindfolds and we can get all scientific about it. just kidding, in case it was not clear.

If you blindfold Francisco he only has his sense of smell left ! ;)

I’ll take Ron’s silence on this small chapter of his system thread as an indication of him not wanting to open Pandora’s box as it would be too much for his Saraswati to compete with.

Maybe…
We only know that it is from deepest darkest Indonesia, and which specific island in the archapellago chain that was Batavia.
The number of gods there make the Abrahamic religions look like one handed kindergarten math.

@Ron Resnick either knows what makes the system sound good or he doesn’t.

It is always convienent to have some magic infused into things - whether it be Gods, “everything matters”, or cylindrical fore extinguishers.

@Ron Resnick do you have access, or can you get, some plats showing the time dpmain behavior of those Claris speakers please?
I suspect that they have more to do with the goodness of the sound than most of the rest of the system.

Are you suggesting a double-blind A/B with non-cylindrical extinguishers? Sounds intriguing...

Probably.
That Saraswati bird and Kali appear to have 4 hands.
Whereas Vishnu has a lot more.

I guess that Saraswati would be good for 4 extinguishers and can move them simultaneously.
And with Vishnu we could have more extinguishers in motion… I think that bird has 100 arms.

It's not art. She's a live goddess who inhabits the listening room and propagates good and happy vibes which infuse the music.
I am not sure how one can beat having an actual god in the room.
That really raises the standard pretty high IMO.

It almost seems to bet the quantum magic stuff by a pretty huge amount.

Blind tests aside, (and since when are you a proponent for blind tests) you’re really questioning whether or not an astute listener can hear the effect of a 2 ft. tall object on floor between speakers in a purpose built room where countless hours of adding/omitting various devices to augment sound and having (many) alleged golden ears evaluate?
Much of what you say in your post destroys 20 years of progress that’s been made in the hobby.

not at all. i'm saying it's a worthy subject to discuss. but i very much doubt Ron ever intended for his piece to have a performance effect one way or the other.

i have an 18" tall ebony figurine of two giraffes my son brought me back from Tanzania when he took a 6 week trip there when he was 15 years old back in 1992. he climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro. it's not a goddess, but it's precious to me. it's more narrow and sleek and has less 'mass' than Ron's statue. i have had it in my room and before i did my final room tune, i could just barely hear it in and out. maybe now i could hear it more easily. but not had it in my room for many years now.

my son also brought me a Maasai Tribe spear which i never considered having in my room.

i did try some wood vases and other glass art in my room on my front shelf and those i could hear and did not care for the effect. it was distracting. since then i've avoided any artsey stuff in my listening room. my home has plenty, but nothing of note.

don't see that.
