I’m not sure how to read your response.
Are you implying my q is off topic? Irrelevant? Isn’t worthy of a Y or N answer? All of the above?
I don’t recall any reference to a Manhattan apartment/system in this thread until now, hence the question.
I thought it was Beverly Hills, Ca, and started after your disastrous flood and then your ongoing journey building new system/sound room, etc.
About a year ago (?) i believe in this thread you announced “Audio Cafe” in Beverly Hills which seemed to have been born to promote/sell the Clarisys speakers.
If I am correct in my accounting then it appears as if this is a different system (comprised of electronics you already owned but were no longer using) driving a pair of Clarisys.
It wasn't a yes or no question.:)

My reference to Matrix Panels was in connection with a different system in a different room in an apartment I had in Manhattan in the 2000s.

Yes; after I adopted Clarisys speakers for my personal use I started Audio Café to be Clarisys Audio's California dealer.

In the last 11 days I have listened to the system by myself for about nine hours, and with four friends (each during his own listening session with me) for an additional 12 hours or so. I am enjoying this stereo the most of any stereo I have ever had.

The system does not sound like what I describe pejoratively as "typical contemporary high-end dealer sound." I find it emotionally involving and natural sounding, with very good suspension of disbelief. I attribute this mainly to the Clarisys loudspeakers.*

*Keep in mind that I became a dealer for the Clarisys loudspeakers only after I decided I like them for myself as my personal, end-game speakers.
Are your’s the upgraded model with autoformers ..?

Got it! I misinterpreted the unfolding of the last several posts leading up to my question.

Well, first I would check if it is a CO2 or similar fire extinguisher - most common fire extinguishers will seriously damage high-end equipment!

If you have to use a fire extinguisher to put out a fire in one of your components, I would say the component is already seriously damaged. I presume the fire extinguisher is there to protect the rest of the house and those people inside it.

No, I was addressing a fire extinguisher to protect our house without damaging our high-systems - fortunately in general our components are not combustible and are protected to avoid igniting.

A good friend had a fire start close to his listening room - it was easily stopped using extinguishers, but the powder extinguisher that was used severely damaged his expensive audio system. There are several types of fire extinguishers, we should use the adequate one - although sometimes they are more expensive.

Those SR fuses sometimes blow quickly.

I don't know why, but foam extinguishers should not be used in fires involving electrical equipment.
as GM of an Automobile Dealership i had to take Haz Mat and OSHA Safety training once a year. critical that the correct fire extinguisher is used for each category of fire. there are different methods for dealing with each category. my main concern was risk prevention, of course. making sure processes and protective devices are always used.. but sh*t can and does happen.

The foam is likely conductive. Not what you want to spray around electricty. It would be similar to dumping water on it.

I hope you understand it was an ironical joke. I thought this thread was about Ron’s stereo system and not fire safety. On the other hand it is the Los Angeles area.. maybe fire safety is a big thing.

Oh man, you're really a killjoy:D. If there's a fire, let it burn. I once put out a car fire; the insurance company paid for the damage and repaired it. I just never got the smell out of the car again. It took over a year before I was able to sell it. I'll never put out a car fire again; I don't have a fire extinguisher in my car anymore.
Deposit important papers and contracts in a safe deposit box. Things can almost always be replaced, but life cannot.
