Part of the fun of vinyl, and yes occasional frustration, is understanding how this 3-D object (the cartridge) can be manipulated on its 3 axes -- pitch, yaw, and roll. And being able to do that for oneself. My sense of J.R. (and previously, Wally) is they take a geometric approach by the numbers. It will be interesting to learn how much if any adjustments are made by ear. 92° is a value judgement not written on a stone tablet. It seems mysterious to some that changing SRA (one plane) can require other adjustments in other planes. J.R. will explain this if you care to learn it. I will encourage you to try learning from this.
Peter, How can it not be obvious that Scott simply was articulating hopefully for me that I will be happy with whatever turntable I choose in the future? He simply was conveying kind wishes for my future turntable decision and eventual vinyl happiness.
He was not attacking the AS-2000.

I read Scott’s post as an inference that DDK made the transaction stressful for you and that there were issues with the daily use of his turntable, and that it would be easy for you to find something that sounds better. I was simply curious about what he wrote. Is it unreasonable to ask him if he has heard the AS 2000 or to explain his comments?

Yes, I responded to Scott directly, but in your later criticism of my post to Scott, you mentioned yourself and our exchanges. You brought that up yourself.

I think your questions to Scott are not unreasonable from a technical point of view. But I think they reflect an obliviousness to Scott's simple and good-natured conveyance to me of his best wishes on my future turntable endeavors.
Peter has made considerable investments, both monetarily and personal direction, to the AS-2000. it's reasonable for him to be paying very close attention to AS-2000 related issues. i can relate to how i view things. we all get invested. we are not neutral.Peter seems to be getting pretty wound up in these discussions lately...
Ron and I spoke extensively about the turntable before and after his visit to Utah last winter. He asked many questions and was extremely excited talking about the incredible build quality and sonics.
Ron starts to set up his system and post videos. People start asking when the new turntable will arrive and Ron says nothing for months and then suddenly announces that he is not getting the turntable he bought four years ago and thinks is incredible.
Scott then posts in response to Ron‘s announcement that he is sorry for the distress the transaction caused and that he had confidence that Ron would find another turntable that gives him even more joy and he implies something about daily use of the table.
Yes, that post raised for me some questions given all the conversations I had with Ron prior to his change of course.
Peter bought a turntable…so what? If he enjoys it and thinks it’s the best then why should he care what anyone else does or says regarding this brand of TT? Only if you are concerned about resell value perhaps?

I surely disagree. It is an hobby, we have our passions, but many of us try to keep cold as much as possible
and keep objective. And science explains and can help the high-end - but many audiophiles prefer to ignore it.For what its worth, the new amp stands look nice and visually integrate well with the amps and speakers.
