Mike , might you expand a little further on what you consider the VYGER to be a “bling bling” TT as compared with an AS2000 , or say the new Kronos … Is it because it is ‘Shiney’ or some other consideration regarding its design ?
ok, to start off with full disclosure; i came within a hair of owning a new VYGER Indian when i ended up with my CS Port 4 years ago. my view on the VYGER aesthetics at that time was that my system was grounded enough with other gear with it's own character, that the Indian would be a comfortable look. sure, it would jump out a bit with it's big, bold, shiny-shiny, but so did my darTZeel and Studers. i have large twin tower speakers, lots of black chairs/sofa, lots of media shelves. a big room. it takes a village to tone down the VYGER.
so i have already processed how the VYGER looks for myself and moved on from a concern about it.
as far as why i view the VYGER as bling-bling, and maybe others not quite like that......first off i do consider the Kronos very slightly bling-bling too. way down the scale. the new one more toward bling than the older model.
the VYGER bling-bling is about everything being bright machined aluminum. and it's shape which is a bit hefty. the finish quality just a tiny step below just right. which when compared to the perfect machined billet stainless of the AS-2000 you cannot compare the two in that sense. or my Esoteric also being cast and machined aluminum, but the scale of the T1 is more elegant and modest. yet it's slightly bling bling. just a bit.
OTOH if we are voting for the most elegant and classy looking turntable, certainly the CS Port LFT1 and Wave Kinetics NVS would be two to consider. my Dobbins Garrard 301 another? maybe my Rockport Sirius III too?
the Saskia model two it's own category......most earthy. 200 pounds of slate.
plenty of others to consider.
does that answer it?
