Full disclosure first off. I run Massif Audio Design (racks and record weights) I also sell Seismion active isolation platforms, and Carbide Audio bases. Seismion compliments Massif racks really well and Im also good friends with Jonathan who's the North American distributor.

This week I began playing with Carbide Audio nano footers and bolted them to my Seismion. Holy cromoly! But I guess it makes sense, I isolated the isolation base. Detail was further improved, Bass became even tighter and wider across the overall image. I'm looking at spending this weekend doing some serious listening, this is pretty exciting.

A few pics, they look cool too.

Any footers or cones that are placed above and below active isolator make a difference in the sound, so as the rack itself. I tried many different footers, basically you can still hear the sonic characteristic of that particular footer.

Footer is a form of passive isolation most of the time. Combination of active and passive isolation often give extra benefit, but do require a good deal of time and patience to get the best result.IMG_3772.JPG
