I determined that I need 7 LP1's. That way all components are covered including amps whether I am playing digital, tape or vinyl. The Ultra 5's seem to be working well under my RTR deck. The 5's tightened and focused the bass more and have made the mids and treble more pure and smooth.
Christian - i find it very, very consistent. For those who try it and buy it...they end up buying a lot. I ended up with 13 pieces myself. And yes, i also know guys who have 20, 30+ pieces+. Addictive is the word and it seems consistently so. Again, it aint 100% product (what is?)...but they're darned good despite their expense.

I think I mentioned it before but it's worth mentioning again in all of the Ultra 5 euphoria on this site, I placed 4 Ultra 5s under my SME 30/12 and it turned the sound to mud. It took all of 2 minutes to pull them out. Up to this point I don't use any isolation for my SME but will be trying HRS platforms soon. And just for reference sake, I currently have Ultra 5s under every other box that makes up my front end. A total of 20 are being used but they're not magic for everything.
I am interested in learning where you placed the Ultra 5s under your TT. Feedback from our UK distributor on using the product under SME tables is the opposite of your experience. I will contact them to learn more; hopefully they'll provide something I can quote or, better still, directly contribute themselves.

I first put them directly under the 30/12 feet. Horrible! Then put them just inside the feet on the underside and it was just as bad. I don't think it was a judgement call or one man's opinion either. I don't believe anyone who listened would have said the table sounded right with the Ultra 5s in place. Took them out and everything was glorious again.
Well I Am finished with stillpoints...at least for now. Everything is treated jncluding component tops with lp1's. Final tally...just a bit short of $12k. The speakers and power amps are an excercise for another day. The lp1 works on my amp tops. Ultra 5's are a tremendous help under the RTR machine. technics 1500. I was able to tap holes in the subframe of the tape deck for a more solid connection than just resting the deck on top. Next Tuesday, the Table Stable arrives for the TT. Hopefully I will be blown away.

Lol....it sounds killer. All the technics does is spin the tape. The nortronics to king/cello is the key. In any event, I'm still waiting to hear back on an A80 RC mk2. I still haven't ruled out an ATR or a Phase 11 UHA.

Look forward to your thoughts on Table Stable...have not heard of it. Did you compare or did you get other people's comparisons of this Table Stable to other isolation decks (i am guess this is isolation)?

Yes, true active isolation in all 6 degrees of freedom...x,y,z,pitch,roll, yaw. IMO, it's the best one. Halcyonics comparable size was fat and bulky. The table stable is Swiss, Halconics...German I believe.

Stillpoints or the Table Stable active isolation table ? I now use stillpoints ultra SS under all rack components and use the LP1 on the top of said components. They have been worth the money. Much improved clarity and transparency with the music. The Table Stable provided an even more significant improvement under my turntable. The sound is now much closer to tape in transparency and authority of presentation. The music just leaps off the record. The frequency extremes are much smoother and less distorted sounding. In short, the Table Stable reduces vibration borne distortions by a significant degree rendering a much more enjoyable musical presentation.

Congratulations Christian. Sounds like you will be keeping everything. Your description of the Table Stable is much like how the sound of my turntable improved with my air isolation, but my solution is probably just not as effective as what is possible with the more expensive and sophisticated active-isolation platform. It's also less fussy. I'm envious.

Thanks Peter. I may end up buying another one when my second TT arrives in a few months.
I will try the new table on the one I currently have and if it works, I'll get another. I have had quite a few late night noise complaints from my significant other as of late. She keeps saying, can you turn down the bass please ? and I say, I just can't stop the music anymore...

This is the one area that I have lots of people beat. My stereo room is sound isolated from the rest of the house and I never have to hear those three words that all men who have stereo systems hate to hear from their wives. And that would be "turn that down." It's priceless.

Congrats! I have been plotting the next long term big move (speakers)...but having honed the system quite a lot with isolation...i have come to appreciate the purity of sound is something as amazing as sheer scale or effortlessness. I came from the best, biggest scale system I have ever heard...and don't really miss it and I think this purity thing is partly why. Again, a lot came thru isolation.
Someone has been encouraging me to keep going on purity...across your experiences pursuing isolation...have you looked at Tripoint...namely their Troy product? Not physical isolation like Stillpoints...but grounding.
