Streamer to kill the big boys for under $250

Mike,
Would you please point me to the location where I can purchase and download the audiolinux version for this streamer? I have scanned every page of this and the other thread and for the life of me can't find the link.

Thanks,

Jordan

That's not the same image I have. If you didn't notice, I've shared that link already on this thread. Why do you think you know I'm using Audiolinux?

Oh... So you are not using Audiolinux???

The AudioLinux page has a host of useful info.

I've already said that's what I'm using. Why do you think you know I'm using it? Aurender uses a custom version of Linux too. So does Sonore. They use a custom version of Vortex box. You are not uncovering any dirty little secrets here like you seem to think you are.

On post #18 I shared that same link already.

You seem to be confused.

Just dissemination some useful info.

Maybe you should go troll on Sonore's CA threads. The standard version of Vortexbox is free. Unlike Audiolinux. But both need to be customized to be plug and play with specific hardware.

You seem to be overly defensive. Thought this was a discussion board. Thought it would useful for the poster who was asking to see the info about AL and it's benefits. You then say how does one know you are using it... Then you say... You are using it...

Maybe you need some Disco...

If he didn't know what I was using, he wouldn't have asked where to download the custom version of Audiolinux.

Considering the only posts you make on this forum are following me around and trolling, it get's a little old after a while.

Try singing this... Maybe you will feel better.

Why don't you try making your own thread or discussing something useful at least somewhere on the forum. Or is there nothing you know that would be of any use to anyone?

Guys, talk about audio, not each other please.

I'm trying, but there's not a single post that Bob has made on this forum in months, that hasn't been dedicated to trolling towards me. His clear purpose on this forum is to troll, and it can be easily seen by looking at his post history.

If you didn't respond in kind then we could address it. THis is your forum Mike. You need to be a gracious host regardless of what members say. Your name is on the door...

Well after 100 trolling posts directed at you, a guy starts to lose patience.

Ordinary men do. But great ones won't. :) Always take the high road.

Well in that case, I guess I just need to watch Karate kid:

And Bob, please cut the man some slack. He is doing good here. THis is not the regen thread.

Hi Amir,

I actually tried but he can be rather temperamental, he seems to go after anyone who may question of disagree with his narrow perspective of audio. This covers many threads.

I actually suggested some practice good sounding power and part alternatives for his suggested devices. Maybe there is some misunderstanding on his part that is still a discussion group, and people can make positive suggestions to the group without his seal of approval.

Believe it or not some people have actually real time honored experience with many of these devices and are not just members of the item of the month club. Just trying to be practical and helpful, especially when he started recommended $24 fiber adapters with $600 power supplies he has never tried. Like Teddy Pardo from the US...oy vey ;)

Sorry if I just find it very amusing and sounding like a bad used car sales person, when I hear about Intel 3 year guarantee , superior quality and MTBF for a $125 mini computer.

As others have mentioned using HQPlayer and an NAA is not new for many of us, nor exclusive to him.

He ever suggested that Lampizator is copying him now. lol I think there is a Chinese word for this... Chutzpah ;)

Best Regards
Bob

The power supply I recommended to power the $25 FMC was the $49 Ifi power, not $600. I recommend that supply because not only have several people verified it is good, they also provide detailed measurement specs on their website and Facebook page. It's designed specifically for audio, not general purpose use.

The supply you recommended is just a cheap common wallwart that is supplied standard with several low cost run of the mill electronics. It's not designed for audio, and they provide no specs on the noise performance. So I'm not going to recommend this to people on this thread, especially since many using this streamer, have systems costing $50000 plus.

The Teddy Pardo is only $369, and has been tested thoroughly by several people over the years, and is a proven supply when it comes to quality. It was recommended for powering the streamer, not the FMC.

As far as Lampizator, I never said they copied me, I just said they didn't come up with the idea that Linux is superior to Windows until after I started this thread. Which was 100% true. Had they thought Linux was superior to Windows for months, perhaps they should have been telling people that for months rather than selling them 5900 Euro, Windows based servers, and telling everyone that Linux sucks, and windows rules.

As far as the Intel gear, everything is true and can be verified. I'm not selling this unit, Amazon as well as several other vendors sell it. I'm recommending it because of the experience I have with it, the warranty, and the quality of the unit.

But I do like the Cat 7 Ethernet cable you suggested, and think it would probably be good. So thank you for that contribution. I didn't see it when I was looking for cables because I was searching for 6" cables.

You are forgetting that I'm also offering support helping setup this gear, as well as ongoing support for the system. This isn't a complete DIY thread. If people start mixing and matching items I haven't tested, and have trouble, or inferior results with random gear, then it's my fault for giving my recommendation on this thread.

People that go for this system do it because they don't want to take gambles. And it's also why I came up with the idea, for people like this.
