Thank you.The easiest way to move files is via the D:Music drive on the Extreme. You can connect to it by typing \\IP Address (for instance \\192.168.1.10) into a file explorer window. For more detailed instructions, see the section starting on page 7 of the attached files.
You could indeed replace the USB card in Slot 5. As far as we are aware, Slot 4 is not in use in any Extreme for example, slot 5 is normally used by the USB card, and slot 6 by the VGA connector which is rarely actually used and is as good as redundant. You could opt to remove the VGA card. it’s just a bracket with a flatcable connecting to the motherboard.Does the new dac card go in slot 5?
Is there a sq advantage to only having the dac card installed without the usb on the mb?You could indeed replace the USB card in Slot 5. Thank you Emile
This makes a great sense.
CPU / memory data -> is transported unaltered over our interconnect -> converted to I2S by our audio processor inside the DAC
Question:
Can your audio processor inside DAC convert your memory signal into:
i2s format AND also AES / spidf format ?
That could make implementation and industry adoption much easier for most of DACs available Now.
pci i2s bridge works perfect , most used hdmi output
It's a competitor's product, but they do their job well. i2s transmission from pc directly to the dac. definitely sounds different than a usb connection. we tried that, more relaxed and finer sound . more definition in bass you hear more gradations and between tones. just a recommendation from me. with standard cable usb and hdmi used by the same manufacturer.
Pink Faun I2S Bridge - Pink Faun
The Pink Faun I2S bridge realizes a high-quality I2S (PCM) connection between the music computer and the DAC. Read more here.www.pinkfaun.com
@Taiko Audio , is there any sq downside to using the Extreme ethernet port direct to iPad remote?Without the Taiko router I would go with Router > Switch > Taiko Switch > Extreme
With the Taiko router I would just run a 2nd Ethernet run off of the router for the iPad.
@Taiko Audio , is there any sq downside to using the Extreme ethernet port direct to iPad remote?
This would allow me to eliminate the extra switch (and another psu for that switch) which I could imagine might be advantageous.
On the other hand, it also brings to mind whether some especially restless audiophiles stacking switches before the Taiko switch?

And this is what we all want !I never tried that but doubt that will actually work.
The Router has integrated Wi-Fi though which does sound better then a wired remote.

As of now this is a must.
Tried to remove them many times but they give a magical touch to the SQ presentation.
Please note I use them as an ACCESS POINT isolators , between router and AP.
( not in between the router and Taiko switch) .
I am unable to remove and sell them .
Buffalo + PF clock is the best cost effecive solution to improve the SQ. Nothing else is as cheap In regards to what it offers in return.
I hope Taiko Router with its build in access point that I ordered already will finally Solve all issues
and I could sell Buffalo switches.
But you can also try to add a second Taiko switch in between!
Emile,
We are probably purchasing a loom of top of the line Albedo cables for our system. However, they don‘t make an Ethernet cable at this time.
Will an A-B Tech REN Ethernet Isolator work well with the Extreme + Switch. Or would you suggest something else?
PS: If my dealer can make it here (traffic at the beaches is horrible and he’s normally 2 + hours away in regular traffic) I will be ordering a black Xtreme and black Switch later this week.
Ok, so it sounds like I should get Wi-Fi in here after all.I never tried that but doubt that will actually work.
