Taiko Audio Extreme Router

Hi VPN,

I was wondering how you like your Zayin Suprareg vs the Plixir Statement for powering the Taiko Trio (Switch, Router & DCD).

Since I want to move my home router to a separate LPS, it's either the Zayin Suprareg or a second Plixir Statement. I'm open to both, also because they cost nearly the same.

Many thanks for your thoughts and listening experience.

... and of course pleasant Christmas holidays. :)
Having compared both in my system, my view is that both are great LPS. The Plixir is much heavier, probably with a larger transformer. In my system, I preferred the timbre of instruments using the Zayin, but this may vary depending on system and preferences. I am currently plugging Taiko Router, Taiko Switch, SSD NAS, and fiber modem, all in the Taiko DCD. At some later date I will take out the NAS and/or Fiber modem and use the Plixir to power them, reducing the load on the Zayin, and hear if it makes a positive difference.

Just migrated my library to a new QNAP NAS getting ready for Olympus delivery. Trying both LAN connection and Taiko Router connection from the NAS the Taiko connection is preferred (with Extreme and Roon)
So I'm a bit confused as to the best way to implement a static IP from my NAS to Taiko Router. Do I set the adapter in the NAS to static( this is what I'm doing now) or there appears to be a way to change a dynamic address to static in the Taiko switch software (which I have a feeling is the better way). Not wanting to mess up the router settings I am reluctant to get into without guidance.
Any thoughts or recommendations?

The Taiko Router will retain the IP address it assigned to your NAS indefinitely.

Emile, could you post here what are the latest numbers sent?

Hi @Armsan ,

That firmware version is the current "old" version and your serial number is not in the "beta test" router group.

Depending on login timing to the router interface though, it can occur the firmware button briefly shows "refreshing firmware". This indicates it's checking if there's a new firmware version available but could easily be perceived as if it's installing new firmware. We'll take a look into making this more clear, for example change "refreshing" in "checking for".
Emile,
As soon as your time permits, please, remember this subject, the new firmware, I mean.
Thank you and I wish you an excellent new year.

Good news, we have it working for NTFS, ext and fat filesystems! We’re going to release it shortly.

Fantastic job, Emile.
Thank you.

Hi Taiko-Router Users,

can anyone recommend a DAC cable to use with the Taiko Router that can be ordered via an Online Store - preferably here in Germany?
I don't wanna tweak or anything like that. Just want to get my Router up and running. DAC cable wasn't included in my router box - probably due to the Christmas / Olypmus order frenzy and the later on DAC cable shipment hasn't arrived.

So I just need a Router compatible plain vanilla DAC cable. :)

Hi @MusicFellow ,

Track&trace shows a failed delivery attempt. @Christiaan Punter has shared the tracking information in your support call.

Apologies for the inconvenience!

FS.com has well-constructed cables for very reasonable prices and is a world-wide organization so likely they have a distributor near you. I've tried FS.com and another (don't remember the name now) brand from an IT enterprise supplier and could not hear any difference. FS prices were a bit better and delivery a lot quicker.

Best of luck!

Thank you all for the suggestions! Team Taiko is following up under which park bench FedEx put my parcel and my local dealer has access to the Melco DAC suggested above. So let's see, which arrives first. Will report when I tried both cables in case anyone is interested.
