The official audio myth busting thread

I highly doubt it. Folks who have both systems listen for extended hours without any listening fatigue whatsoever.

Actually, it's been done and there are differences... not with SOTA gear as were talking abou here though.... I can't find the study but I'll let you know if I do.

Also, some people aren't as sensitive as others to fatigue and can listen to systems happily that make others run out of the room with their hands over their ears, so don't be so quick to discount it.

I have been banging on about that to no avail lol.

We need a audiophile neurologist

Yes, the way music makes you feel is important right? Monitoring brain activity when listening seems like it could have merit.

Yeah maybe with horrible sounding jitter riddled gear playing poor source music. Not the case here with what I'm talking about.

Well I think it will be more of an issue to find a vinyl fan with enough confidence in their listening ability to attend this event, than worrying about them running out of the room with their hands over their ears.

Are you just on here to fill the pages with meaningless text? Just tell us whether or not your coming for the challenge. If you would rather act like a kid kicking and screaming with your fingers in your ears, this thread isn't for you. This thread is for people who have a genuine interest of knowing the results.
As I suspected no substantive answer.
Are you going to respond to Tom's acceptance of your challenge ?
Are going to answer my question?
Are you pushing a format or selling a product?

I want a reliable source of fact, negating the conscious mind and monitoring our brains directly is what we need.

Put your crap socket in and measure brains response, put your super socket in and measure... Measure at live gigs.

Understand what's going on up there and how best to stimulate our selfs at home music wise scientifically.

End all arguments.

Plus we could end up with true independent solutions to get us the music we want in the home to suits our ears and brains.

This will happen. You need to understand neurologically the individuals needs. ... Sounds sexy:D

I hereby represent myself as such. Who wants the first lobotomy? I accept all insurance plans and deductibles are waved for WBF members.
A few here may benefit from a couple of well placed knitting needles In thier eye sockets :D

feel free if you can't make it to amir to self medicate...

Tom is just talking gibberish as far as I'm concerned. If he want's he's welcome to come. But the event will take place in Seattle. I'm not pushing anything, I'm just trying to bust myth's. This is "The official myth busting thread"

I look forward to the results.

Well we need to assemble a panel of known die hard vinyl enthusiasts in order for this event to be worth while. If we only have guys who already know digital is superior, then it's completely pointless.

Then we also need guys who think the sound of tube gear can't be perfectly replicated though SS gear as well. Because that will be another test.

And finally I think the digital test between formats will be interesting for all attending to discover the result's. Personally I think DSD will win, but I'm perfectly open to give PCM a fair chance. And I would not be embarrassed in the least amount if I was to admit on video that I preferred the PCM version. In fact if it turned out that way, I would be thrilled, as PCM music is so much more readily available than DSD. I'm always excited to learn new things, and shatter misconceptions.

Sigh. So you repeat the comment again in this last line? And say you are still going to create work for us as management in that regard by continuing to complain behind the scenes??? You can't be like any other member coming here to discuss some topics related to audio hardware and software and have it be that? You must add to our workload as management?

Not sure why you repeatedly keep picking on the wrong guys. Just yesterday our day before you posted we shouldn't try to mod the forum ourselves (no free market philosophy) and we should report posts. Glad Peter is doing it. I should too. The way I see it, there is one member causing major aggravation who will take a lot of people down with him.

Yes take a look in the mirror and you will find this man. He's the guy who continuously brings negativity to Blizzards corner, rather than minding his own business, as he clearly has no interest in the subject matter being discussed around here.

And to add to that, you never post anything of value to anyone. You claim your hearing is so good, why don't you post results of your latest hearing test on here? For all we know you're half deaf.

Stevie wonder has attended thousands of live event's, but I wouldn't put much weight on his opinion of audio gear.

Sure, report posts. But don't come here in public repeatedly say the forum stinks and PM the mods on the same thing. We want to be here enjoying the forum ourselves than to listen to people just complaining about the forum as a whole.

As a close student of Dr Hfuhruhurr's work I am more than willing to facilitate a Pre / Post Trepanning DSD Vs Analog experiment, with Putite Audio as the test subject naturally, this would of course provide very little in the way of any conducive result regarding the subject at hand, yet it would provide me an opportunity to hone my blunt spoon cranial invasive technique.

Oh I was assuming you were going to be attending as you had mentioned this event a few times already. I was helping set things up via email as well. It's too bad you didn't make it, as I have already heard feedback of the results comparing the Janaki String Trio by Yarlung records on vinyl vs the quad DSD on the NADAC. Someone will be sharing impressions on this shortly I hear.

Thanks, I just heard about it. Ian invited one our friends at the last minute over for a listen. I am hoping to go with Al M. at another time and am looking forward to hearing your recommended digital source.

Great I look forward to your detailed listening impressions.

I just cannot have said it better myself. :b

_________

I will add this; for the people who take more pleasure in life @ complaining, try to share your stuff like Mike do instead. :b
I mentioned that already few times in the past, but it seems to be a very tough challenge to execute for some.
It's the BEST attitude to adopt, to accommodate each and everyone, to advance in grand wisdom of knowledge style...and all that very cool jazz playing on the r.a.d.i.o. :b

Just how much brain can you eat before the subject starts to enjoy phill Collins.
