New turntable from Thorens in collaboration with Seismion.

If I'd known their antenna could sound so beautiful. I would've took a fly swatter to any wasp that came near me. :p

I will just keep my old restored Thorens for 1/10th the price. Sounds great in our system.
Looks interesting though.

ROT69:

I have a TD125 that I have yet to start restoring. It's pleasant at this point, but I have a Fidelity Research arm to go on it, as well as a more highly specified cartridge. What Thorens do you have? Would you mind sharing your restoration efforts - if PM is more appealing to you, feel free to go that route. I'm curious and want to try out other users efforts.

Are the photos of a real turntable or a computer mock-up?

Unprompted rant ahead, viewer discretion is advised.

I see 3 different user facing fonts, different curve radius everywhere, different bezels. Not to mention the super important 2x4cm screen front and center, adding that touch of timeless elements and class that any modern TT should have.
It will undoubtedly have a reference level performance, but gezus, it might be a classic example of engineers doing design. I should know, as an engineer...

Looking at their instagram they are already producing the first example at least, so here is to hopping these renders are somewhat outdated :)

You can see it at Munich

I know it’s subjective but I’d take the old reference any day…. Looks to me like when techdas and wadax copulate the new thorens reference is born…. Rolf kelch reference looks much cooler…

Looks like a TechDas Air Force 2 only uglier (and that is saying something when comparing with the Air Force 2 !)

Looks good, nice to see an official Reference successor. The most similar would be the discontinued Rolf Kelch Reference 2 and is extremely rare, barely pops up in the used market.

The Rolf Kelch Reference 2 looks better tho.

The reference looks a lot better in person.

Do I spot a Thorens MM 008 phono amplifier in the path there?
