Hi everyone. Just got back from the Toronto Audiofest. Very small crowds but the upside was it created a very intimate setting where you could have lots of space in the rooms and talk to the manufactures and distributors. Had to show proof of being fully vaccinated and wear a mask to enter the show. Some rooms really stood out, others were dreadful as in any show. Sitting at the hotel bar last night, I noticed some gentlemen in their hazmat suits. At first, I thought we had a COVID breakout in the hotel or I was in the real movie "Outbreak". It was just our Chinese tourist friends who flew in from China. No, this was not what we needed to wear to enter the show!

Spoke to Modulum Audio's founder about a new product he's putting to market. Pushing the limits with vibration footers which are not yet on his site. He has the top level of copper footers. From what I remembered, the copper footers are sold as a trio for approx $2000.00. The most beautiful footers I have ever held in my hand for engineering efforts.

Music First had a room at the show as well. We were located in the Dixon on the lobby level.

The show was well attended with just shy of 1900 officially counted and over 2500 attendees in total according to some estimates. Our room was packed for most of Friday and all except the first and last hour on Saturday and Sunday.

Our room featured the Bayz Audio Courante 360 degree omni speakers and a pair of Rel Acoustics Gibraltar G1 subwoofers.

The source was a Laufer Teknik Memory Player playing ripped wav64 files from a SSD, AES digital feeding our MUTEC re-clocking stack (2xMC3+USBs and REF10 120SE). The re-clocked digital signal was handed off to the incredible Aries Cerat Kassandra DAC which in turn drove our brand new Audionet Humboldt Integrated Amplifier (which we believe was shown for the first time in North America).

Bringing up the bottom half octave was a pair of Rel Acoustics Gibraltar G1s. David Shultz, currently with T+A, and previously of Rel North America spent about an hour dialing them in; finally crossing them over at a very low 26Hz, the Bayz Courantes are THAT good in the bottom end.

Digital, analog and speaker cables were Inakustik 4004 Air and Power Cords were the Ear To Ear Full and Half Helixes.

On static display was the Incredible Aries Cerat Incito S and the equally incredible Mola Mola Tambaqui.

For those in the GTA Canada, this exact system is setup and now available to audition in our showroom!

You had a very musical and revealing room. You and your colleagues were also very knowledgeable and took the time to explain the engineering behind your components. A well put together room. Congrats!

Thanks Gene

It was very much a labor of love. Many people said 'Best of show'; others gave two thumbs up!... :). While all the equipment was the best we know of, the Bayz speakers are, quite simply, shear magic.
