Tripoint troy signature grounding device

Purely in jest . I too was of a similar thought , but not any more after having experienced the Opus Prime DAC . All that has been written and glorified on the AE forum rings true . It may be yesterday's champ , but to mé it's tone and delivery is supremely gratifying . So it is with great anticipation that I await my Troy .

Congrats...both are great. I have heard the original Vekian and was very very impressed. I kept my Zanden, but that was a decision that took a while to make. And your Opus Prime is more than a few generations later. As for Troy, that one I did go for, and am very happy I did. Do let us know when you get it.

As for AE, I think there is a bit of zeal, shall we say. But I do find the stuff that AE focuses on to be very good. I like Stahl-Tek, Tron, Zanden, Tripoint, Tidal...others have been impressed by the Dalby's work. And when I have spoken with them in the past...they were incredibly honest...actually referring me to a piece of equipment they did NOT sell over 3 brands they DID sell. That was a remarkable bit of advice, and I will not soon forget it. Next time I can do business with them, I will. Honesty like that begets loyalty from me.

Jazzhead, congrats. Please share your experiences with us. Btw, are you getting a Troy or a Troy signature? Never heard the former myself but according to reports from people who have the latter is clearly the better product. If you are able to do so, please get a listen to a Troy se grounding cable as well. The combination of this grounding cable with the Troy signature is so good that it even exceeds the high hopes I had before buying the two. I hope to be able to buy two additional Thor se grounding cables in the (near) future because after my listening experiences in last weekend I consider the Thor se grounding cable an essential element in my audio set ups.

The Thor version . Aim to get a hang of the standard leads before deciding on the Thor se grounding cables. Will keep the thread posted ... Cheers

I have no idea what Miguel did with the Troy signature and Thor se grounding cable that I inserted in my Tidal/Zanden/Trinity system a week ago. I connected the Thor Se grounding cable to my Trinity pc&cd drive and grounded my Zanden 3000 linestage, Zanden 9500 mk iii monoblocs as well as my Taralabs omega gold loudspeaker cables (the latter are supplied with their own grounding box which I connected to the Troy signature) with the 'regular' grounding cables. The overall effect is even greater than I experienced in my Genesis set up. Compared to a week ago I hear more openness, transparency, speed/explosiveness, power and (micro) information. Listened to one of my test red book recordings - George Tsontakis, Albany Symphony conducted by David Alan Miller on Koch International classics, kic-cd-7680, which is one hell of a recording with tremendous dynamics - and I am still flabbergasted. People who are still sceptical about grouding in general or Tripoint in particular: just try it out open mindedly. It is fascinating!

For those who are interested: in a new thread on this forum - Tripoint Audio - new top model grounding device - you can find some info regarding the Tripoint emperor, a new top of the bill Tripoint product.

So my Troy SE landed today ... Where do I start , where my good God where ...... Do I sound like a raving lunatic , yes cause I am freakeddd out ! It's been cooking for all of 3 hours , connected so far only to my CDT , DAC and power distributor . Still to connect my amps .

Let's start at the beginning , my cable chain at present is incomplete , the Stage 3 Gryphon I/C sent back for a plug upgrade . Instead I have inserted from DAC to pre , an elcheapo 20$ wire to get me thru . Unlistenable as you can imagine , flat , univolving , completely threw the tuned balance off . As mentioned on these pages , the Troy has a settling in period . So I figure this is a good time as any to run it in . Hook it for for a better tomorrow and all that kinda stuff . Well what do you know, straight of the bat within five minutes of initial grating ( due the new cable) I hear a definite spatial enhancement and now 3 hours in its just kept getting better .

Better how ? ..... Firstly there descends a tranquility , guess this is the noise being stripped away . Only you do not know it exists till you have heard it scrubbed away . Next the image stills even further ( LL21 did mention this to me,in the many mails I exchanged regarding the unit) . Speed and launch of notes, faster and truer . An unimpeded flow to events , like some shackle has been cast aside . Boggles the mind to think that it will settle in and mature even further , or that it's gotten this musical even with my cable chain incomplete and my amps yet to be connected .

Kudos to Audiocrack for highlighting the Troy and drawing the early flak directed towards him and to LL21 ,Spiritofmusic, Defride and others for extolling the virtues of grounding .
For all ye fence sitters , get with it ... It's got that swingggg thang !!!!..... Me , I ve got Emperor dreams !

Glad you have started on the path to a noiseless system. You are getting a partial glimpse as what is possible. The size of the pathway is what really makes a noiseless system transcendant. Listening to a full orchestra or chorus everything is crystal clear absolutely no congestion, the soundstage explodes and you are cocooned in sound and energy. You can hear everything the mic hears,as musicians talk in the background with Bill Evans playing thinking they can't be heard. Drum whacks sound like gunshots and everything sounds and images in lifelike proportions.
You're right...you are hooked.

Congrats! Very happy for you and look forward to your comments as the Tripoint settles into your system. I have done the grounding thing twice...Entreq audition (excellent) and the Tripoint. Major stops were at 3 hours, 48 hours and about 2 weeks. So may even have more to look forward to. Enjoy.

Glad to read about your enthusiasm for the Tripoint Troy se Jazzhead. It is indeed a magnificent product and I am happy to hear that your experiences so far (and yes: it will get better the next week or so) concur with those of mine, Lloyd and quite a number other audiophiles all over the world. Still cannot understand all the negative comments of people who have never heard the Tripoint Troy se in their system or - second best - in another hifi set up. Hopefully your enthusiasm will convince some audiophiles to open their minds and ears towards Tripoint products such as the Troy se and the emperor.

Jazzhead, any new Tripoint Troy signatures experiences to share with us?

Hi Audiocrack , after my very rather exuberant post which I now look back as naive . That was just a glimpse of what lay ahead . Rather than slobbering all over its virtues , I will keep it short by saying IMHO,without the Troy you are only listening to "sounds", with it ......"MUSIC".

Hear, hear...

Well Jazzhead, I believe that this I s the highest praise you can bestow on an audio component. You will not be surprised if I add: I totale agee with you. I am pretty sure that all the pessimists and the "high price brigade" on this thread would be really amazed once they insert the Tripoint Troy signature in their audio set ups.

Last night I was able (for the first time) to connect my Tripoint Troy signature se to a dedicated powerline. Before I was able to do this I considered the Tripoint Troy already a was one of my most important audio components. Imho people who have not installed a 'grounding' device such as the Tripoint Troy have not (really) heard their audio systems. My goodness! After the experience of last night I can only conclude that the Tripoint Troy signature is an even better device than I previously thought: an even larger soundstage, particular the soundstage depth, even greater dynamics, micro details are laid bare more easily and better and the sound became even more refined (the association with a 'velvet' sound comes up). Mind boggling.

Audiocrack, what are the physical details of connecting Troy SE to a powerline? Do you mean to a dedicated line supplying eg your amps, or to a power cord/conditioner etc?

Hello Spirit,

A dedicated line was hard wired to a powerstrip. I use this strip for some of my audio components and now also for my Tripoint Troy signature se.
