Upgrading Genesis II's

Guys and Gals,

Good news for any of the older Genesis speakers in need of the 48" and larger ribbons rebuilt. During my room construction I have been looking for ribbon rebuilding alternatives for the G2. A gentleman suggested I look around at the Carver line that used the 48" driver in the Genesis 2's. Well, I found that Ed (Sea), provides rebuilds for the 48" driver at a very reasonable price. Any specifics regarding the crossover, impedance, FR plots, distortion, will have to be answered by Ed.

This is great news considering the age of these speakers. If you want to keep them in original condition and are satisfied with the sound, this is a great opportunity. Mine developed a slight buzz in one driver and it is time to refurbish them. I will keep you posted on the results as this moves forward.

Can you send me his info please. This is incredible news. Thank you for posting

Here are some schematics from Paul McGowan at PS audio. Theses are for the older servo bass amps and should help us Genesis owners keep them going. If I get more information I will share it with everyone. Happy New Year.

Many thanks Mak. Happy New Year.

GENSW9B looks like the servo/preamp board for the old G500 plate amp. I can't figure out what GENSW4A is - it is truncated. There are a bunch of digital potentiometers (DS1267) which makes me suspect it might be part of the original servo-bass amp prior to 1997.
