Vacuum State RTP3D preamp

OEM caps are Mundorf ZN (there are 4 in each line and phono stage coupling caps)
Popular opinion has it, that V-cap CuTF cups are much better

Thanks for the clarification. At the moment I am using Clarity Caps ESA in my speakers XO, might order some V-cap CuTF's just to try out.

Kicking up an old topic. But I am still wondering if someone ever heard the RTP3D?

When I had allen's dp300b amps I tried out his smaller pre, which was on a par with David bernings zotl pre, but since I owned that one, I did not move and ultimately got rid of the amp as well- the berning zh230 was more to my liking.

My context:
Vsei gear is phenomenally open and beautifully sounding. Berning had the same with added agility, whereas audio consulting adds liquidity.

The rtp3 is considered a benchmark product and i tend to believe it on my experience with the svp2

Seems like it's time to give a fresh breath of air into this thread.
I believe not many people tried or been enjoying the RTP3D preamp and I include myself into this group, but based on the group of enthusiast and friends in Serbia I decided to join their effort to built the aforementioned pre for several of us willing to participate in this. Entire project is lasting for quite some time now (above two years I would say) but finally test unit is getting its final shape. Its being done from plexi just to see if everything is in line dimensions wise and to test the unit (single components were tested already). If all is good sonics and dimensions wise it will be done in normal Al enclosure. So just a sneak peak into this one and I'll post some more pictures how the project is evolving or coming to the final look and shape.
Not to forget - we've tried to get the best/smartest possible parts money can buy from resistors, caps, pot, transformer cores, etc. so hopes for ultimate sonic bliss are quite high...but lets see how this one will unfold...more to come...
Pictures are just of the line stage...power supply is another box and will post those when i get them..

Hi @bazelio ;

Unfortunately it's still not finished. I've heard the line stage few times but it had some minor issues which were solved and the guys are still tweaking the phono modules. But it did sound super promising when I heard it. I hope we are moving towards the end of the build...

One of the best preamps I ever had in the house.

What a beauty

One of the best preamps I ever had in the house.
The line stage is way better then the V77b used in the mixing console.
By better i mean more transparent and dynamic and less colored.

Really nice build, a little question why 2 tubes more in there for phono without transistor?

While RTP is still not done and everything is ultra slow it is important that final assembly is moving fw.
Chassis is finished and done entirely with thick aluminum panels and front is getting its final shape and should look like as per pictures below.
I personally love it.
Still in raw form from CNC milling machine and awaiting ball blasting and anodizing…E3B467CE-6B61-40AF-91DF-D698E9E21FFD.jpegFD948057-1B53-4D89-B3DF-9FC945EF6D99.jpeg104319F0-D95B-4334-80CD-8B8ABE4C2FFE.jpeg

I'm getting RTP3D built for me. Will post my impressions as soon, as I get a handle on it
My previous preamp was VAC Signature 2a, and my current one is Tron Syren Ultimate ($41,000 retail)
Maril,
Any update on your preamp?
Evan

Unfortunately no,
A tech who started the project bailed out some time ago as it was more time consuming, then he estimated.
I'm using Thomas Mayer 10Y line stage and Audio Antiquary phono now after having used two different Shindo preamps (Vosne Romanee and Giscours) before that

Some progress and seems like finalization in next few weeks and maybe earlier…
