Violin music vdeos

I only listened briefly and have no reference to compare to. Only you can tell.

I see. I misunderstood you. I thought you were claiming something was defective. I listen to both cartridges for different presentations, depending on the music and the mood. I liked them both for different reasons. Being able to play with different cartridges on multiple arms is one of the joys of vinyl in my opinion.

You see what? Different cartridges cannot explain the huge difference in sound of the videos. So assuming you did record them with your phone in the same spot, you should be worried that one of the setups, or both, is defective - i.e. not as it should be.

I've been having some fun playing around with an old vintage pair of Wharfedale W60's two-way speakers, utilizing Alnico drivers. These stand mounted speakers were made in England back in the 1960's.

A friend asked me to post a few snippets of Lola Bobescu playing Beethoven's Violin Concerto so he could get an idea of what they might sound like. I did the videos in 5 parts. I will try and remember how to post them here. Fingers crossed that it works for me, lol.

Thank you! It's been a fun experiment playing with these old speakers.

It amazes me at times, how they can just make me stop what I'm doing (whether it's reading the forum or typing an email, etc) and it just commands my attention. There are times the sound is so pure/immediate and it just grabs me and pulls me in and connects with me. And, all of this with just a pair of very old, little two-way stand mount speakers that cost less than $1k. What a fun way to spend the afternoon!

Best wishes,
Don
