i've casually compared higher rez files to the same streaming resolution and the files are better. not done that with 16/44 files or CD's i personally ripped. when i get there i will pay attention to that and comment.

Quboz is the best streaming i have heard. but my world view is Tidal and Quboz, so not sure what else is out there.
and i'm all in on Roon with Wadax, so not likely i'm out looking for non Roon choices. if Roon offers more choices that have benefits. i might try them. as i move forward, more dxd files is where i'm thinking to push it.

My experience is that 99% of Tidal albums sound better in MQA version.

My experience with MQA with Tidal over Roon has been the same. It most cases it sounded better than the normal file.
never loved them, but never heard them in a mature system. i suspect they can be fantastic when optimized. love to hear Master Tang's sometime.
actually no, this one (Wisdom/Synergistic/Rowland) was bigger......CES 2002....but it sounded like crap. a sonic disaster.

personally i find Quboz regular files are better than Tidal regular files. so claims MQA is better than Tidal regular files does not count for me. as they are not my standard for streaming files. and Quboz high rez is much better than MQA when i've paid attention in the past. i do need to get serious about how the Wadax is doing this to see if that still holds true.
Haven't heard the name Wisdom in years. Anyone know what happened to them? Are they still in business?
they reinvented themselves as the top multichannel Home Theater speakers. really fine sounding in-wall/in ceiling. bi-ampable.
I'm still using Wisdom Audio Adrenaline 75 speakers. Driving them with Audio Prism "Manna" tube monoblocks for the ribbons and Jeff Rowland 8TiHC for the bass units.

I would like to say more something. While fans disparage Roon and praise TAS/XDMS, Emile honestly say that the new OS with Roon will sound better than the old OS with TAS/XDMS. It proves Taiko never maximize the efficacy of Roon and TAS/XDMS is not better than Roon. Even if he say TAS/XDMS on the new OS will be better than Roon in next month, there is no guarantee that he will not continue releasing the another OS which Roon will be better than XDMS again in the future.
At the beginning, Wadax adopted Roon as the core for their servers. So I believe Wadax can take full advantage of Roon's power and add their customization. They make full great value of Roon to promote their strength. In any of which Roon's version, Wadax is still always amazing to be listened. Roon can sound bad on Taiko but always amazing on Wadax because of that. It's a difference between Wadax and Taiko about Roon but Taiko's fans never understand this.
Whatever poeple say, Roon is always deeply appreciated on a lot of features. No one can catch them up about features currently. About SQ, like I said, there should be no SQ difference in the software players as long as all things are kept equal. There is no actual “better.”
I do not say Wadax is always number one. They can be chased in next few years and the process of upgrading the plant will be happened. Every companies also get this problem.
