Wadax Studio Player Review

Just some information to report. I finally got my second room working. I am trying this new Marantz 10 series integrated amp with its very cool lighting. I digress. I plugged my Studio player in the other day and hooked it to the internet. I came back yesterday and there was an available software update. I did it. I had no idea what it was so today I rebooted the player and when it came back VIOLA it said Qobuz connect. I went to see if the app was live but it is not yet. I did hear that they are having a kickoff party in Munich in two weeks so I assume it will be go time shortly.
This is very good news for a very exciting product.

Curious to know your opinion. A good friend is enthusiastic about it and I know the Marantz 10 sells well in my country.

My first impression is it looks very cool and has some lighting that makes it look likes it a framed item when on a shelf. Its too early to discuss the overall sound however it doesn't sound bad , we shall see after a few days what it is capable of. It is a good price point and its well made with a bunch of power so I can understand that it is a good seller.

I have heard that the Connect feature is going to be rolled out to all subscribers on 5th May.
Qobuz users should have received a message warning of maintenance and being logged out in the process. I’m guessing 5th of May is on the cards still.
But remember to log back in folks.

I’d also surmise that Roon is pulling out all the stops to improve its sound quality for fear of losing subscribers to Qobuz Connect.

Yes, there will be a competition and for Qobuz Connect you don't need a (Roon) server.
I am very curious how Qobuz Connect will sound with Taiko servers when they have it ready...

What has "I am very curious how Qobuz Connect will sound with Taiko servers when they have it ready..." got to do with a Wadax Studio Player. Please post this on a Taiko thread (there are many to choose from).

Wadax can delete my post if they want.

I think the interesting thing might be is the connect app going to sound the same or different than the services sound through Roon. The tidal connect app doesn't really work that well IMO. It is not that easy to navigate and it isn't seamless.

Qobuz connect is alive and working . Listening to it now on my studio player
