Everyone knows that album; the piano is clear, the playing is assured, the emotions in check, the air around the notes clean and breathable.
Every classical music lover has that double-album in their music collection, it's like breathing classical music without Glenn Gould; unimaginable.
If you could describe in one word the world, what word would it be? I'll give you my answer after I hear yours. Hint: It finishes by the letter "e".

Extremely well performed and recorded--

Antonio Vivaldi: Trio Sonatas, Op. 1

I don't understand the point of simply posting album images and related catalog info without any sort of commentary.

I've been away from the forum for a while. When I don't comment, it should go without saying that all is well! In the future, I shall make comments. Fortunately, I don't buy too many that I don't like. Here's an exception: She's all speed and very little passion:

The audio perspective is more distant than is usual for DG.

Music without words, words without music. Silence can be interpreted as outspoken as all the history books from all libraries.
____

DG is not my favorite music record label, because of inconsistency on the recording quality.
This one rings fine, ...the performance. In the later years DG has come with some quality gems.

It's a journey into a labyrinth filled with terrifying beauty and transcending power; music and voices.

New to me...very nice.

A towering performance of the Sonata, captured in quite good, if not audiophile, sound.

Lovely textures and decay trails .

Rarely do they produce a recording of this quality and magnificence. I think Olivier Latry is the best organist living and he is playing a glorious new organ here. If you love pipe organs that are grand, and the power and majesty they are capable of producing, run don't walk to buy this recording. Be warned though this recording has some "balls" and will test any system. It's like you're in the passenger side and your buddy is testing out a vintage Dodge Viper @ 160 mph and you find yourself hitting the brake...it's that good.
