Saw Trioscapes again the other night. Incendiary live band. New album coming in September. I discussed the upcoming vinyl with Dan Briggs. I emphasized LESS COMPRESSION. He understood so we'll see. Jaimie King, the engineer, has a good set of ears. I've worked with him a number of times in the past. He works with so many death metal bands that I think its just a matter of him thinking a bit outside the box.

New tunes are smokin'

That's great news Ken. Thanks! I'll be watching out for the new album.

A former deep house DJ who went to composition. The first is dark electronics...the other a wonderful set of acoustic guitar set against the backdrop of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. Talented indeed...oh and by the way, they seem like great audiophile type recordings...

I have been reading up with some curiosity about the 11 different masterings of Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon...one of my fav albums for many many years. I only own the MFSL which many like, but many more said is not their favourite.

The one that people 'seem' to included in the 'best of' list is the very 1st mastering. Below is an excellent summary of all 11 remasterings.

Out of curiosity, I just found an original CD pressing from the very first master (2nd hand of course)...hope it arrives soon and in good condition. (I got the Australia first issue - Harvest Records, 7 46001-2, CD made in Japan)

Will be most curious. Anyone else have any thoughts here?

Unpleasant distorted electric guitar. Why pay big bucks to put together an audio system
to listen to distorted music?

Keep that distorted music coming. One of my favorite demo CD's.

Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while

crate digging LA records stores today yielded a stereo copy of mallets, melodies and mayhem for $5 - and from Mike Hobson's store no less! I had a great haul this afternoon for a few hours work.

Oscar Peterson Exclusively for My Friends all 6 albums together for $35 at 24/88.2. Great music, performances and sonics. Considering how expensive downloads can get, getting all 6 albums together in one set for $35 is a steal (they are $18 a piece)

IN DA HOUSE - Finally! Sounds gorgeous!

Amen Dunes "Love". Very reminiscent of the recent War on Drugs release. Not an audiophile recording

Finally scored a 1st pressing mono unboxed Decca of this overlooked classic. Sound quality absolutely kicks my Decca unboxed stereo. If you want the hits "Let's Spend the Night Together" with the B side "Ruby Tuesday", you'll have to buy the American release on London (abysmal sound quality and deleting "Back Street Girl" and "Please Go Home") or find a copy of "Flowers". But if you want to hear this as the boys and ALO intended, this is the release to get.

Definitely a transitional LP between their first masterpiece "Aftermath" and their psychedelic detour with "Their Satanic Majesties Request", there are several terrific songs including Jagger's first solo writing effort "Yesterday's Papers", "Miss Amanda Jones" and "Back Street Girl". "Connection" presages their infamous Redlands bust which occurred one month after this release.
