Absolutely great book. I read all three of them and I agree with Barak Obama and Mark Zuckerberg who've recommended it

As per post #691:
"Gentlemen, this has swayed into the political territory and our stance here as admins is that we do not tolerate political banter on this board. This is not up for debate.

Let's get back to the topic of "What's Everyone Reading" and leave the heated discussions to other avenues that are specifically not here. Thanks and have a great evening. Tom"

This post needs to be deleted.

No snooty-snogging, please! Oblique political comments dressed as seemingly innocuous "What's Everyone Reading" posts will be deleted.

Why, because you don't agree with it?
Your post was political in nature by the way.
Are we not allowed to read books about politics and share that read?
That is hardly a violation of TOC, its the comments that ensue that are the problem.
Read on yall, expand your horizons.
Agree 100%. Let's just keep the comments out but allow any book to be posted please.

Ladies and gentlemen, the posts will remain. If it is a book that is posted in this thread that you are reading, we will not censure it, as it is not political.

If you do not like a particular book that is posted, keep scrolling. It is, however, against the TOS to attempt to moderate a thread. The admin team is well aware of the posts and we rule with a gentle hand, unless a heavy hand is called for. If you have a complaint, notify the admin team and we will address it. Do not attempt to moderate a thread on your own.

With that said, any political commentary WILL be deleted. If warranted, administrative actions may be placed on the member who posts political commentary. If it is determined by the admin team that all you post is political books in order to do nothing but cause trouble, we will review that member's other contributions and if action is necessary, we may act.

It is not our intent to become a "nanny state" forum. The best thing to do is if you think a post will be controversial? Just refrain from posting it for the good of the community at large.

Yes, I love Kiss Kiss. Pig is good. I may reread My Uncle Oswald or Someone Like You. There are so many great short stories by Dahl.
Royal Jeely is brilliant too. The Landlady scared the hell out of my kids with "Mr. Weaver". They are still scared today...

Thanks for the recommendation. Have really enjoyed this book and have the other two books in the trilogy on the way.
