Oh I'll be sure to track that down - haven't watched it yet. Did manage to watch the Alec Guiness Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy on BBC iPlayer a few weeks ago. One of my absolute favourites. I miss the 70's and 80's. Simplier times. But then, we wouldn't be doing this.
I recommend Smileys People as well. Same high quality BBC production quality.

Ellenberg's other book "How Not to be Wrong" is also a good read.

Only recommended if you value time spent investigating a period of American development 'the loser's wrote history.'

Nah a good spy thriller is always a winner :)... I just bought my first Steven King novel in like forever...its good fun after the heavier material I have been reading lately.

Certainly is.

In both cases reading doesn't necessarily equate to understanding. :p

@Andrew S. Not so far back I posted at least one new Bond book. Most of the other spy thriller books haven't been.. thrilling. You might try Charles Cumming's latest originally titled "The Man Between" in GB before taking on American distribution as "The Moroccan Girl." It ended up being a half interesting billet-doux to Eric Ambler.
