What's Spinning Tonight?

I've got so many jazz albums, but this one keeps drawing me in for a listen, lately.

Have you heard Buddy Guy & Junior Wells 'Alone and Acoustic'? One of my favorite albums and was just listening to it on Monday.

No, I haven't. Thanks for the recommendation! The only other Buddy Guy & Junior Wells album I have is "Voodoo Man Blues", which is awesome. I think that I also have some other blues albums that they both play on, though, as sidemen.

Muddy Waters, "Hard Again", 33.3rpm, 180gram, produced by Johnny Winter, who also plays on the album, as well as James Cotton, Pine Top Perkins, and others.

Yeah, LOTS of energy on that one! I need to go look through my records to find an album I have that has energy that compares to that. I can't remember the name of the album right now, but it had everyone who visited our room at the Lonestar Audiofest asking who it was.

Talk about 'growl' on that opening track!

Turns out, I did have another Buddy Guy & Junior Wells album and it's the one I was thinking about that has so much energy to it. "Drinking' TNT 'N' Smokin' Dynamite" is the album name. An interesting assortment of players on this one including, Bill Wyman (yes, that Bill Wyman), Pinetop Perkins, Terry Taylor and Dallas Taylor (yes, the drummer on Crosby, Stills & Nash).

Time to calm it down a little after all that loud blues! Kat Edmonson, "Take To The Sky", 33.3 rpm, Convivium Records. Exquisite sound.

I'm on it too; the live venue is French territory...

* Cut at the 1974 Montreux Jazz Festival with Stones' bassist Bill Wyman anchoring the rhythm section.
Cool, this is new (I mean from 1974), and I like.
