Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra, cond. Dennis Russell Davies

Yesterday: Haydn Symphonies # 50 and # 54. And repeat, both.

Today: Haydn Symphonies # 88, # 89, and # 74.

Gorgeous. In the finale of # 88, and the first mvmt. of # 89, I found myself dancing in my chair. And what an inventive composer.

Bryan Ferry - Bete Noire - 1987 Aussie pressing. I don't think Bryan has aged since around 1981. This is a classic Ferry album imo and one of my favs. Day For Night is one of his darkest and best tracks.

Prince ?– Planet Earth. The lenticular cover is amazing. nice job in the mastering, not quite as good as 3121. so good to have this album on vinyl finally.

Djabe & Steve Hackett - Life is a Journey: The Sardinia Tapes
7.5 IPS 4-track copy of original master tape (the rear of the box clearly states it’s a 24-track analog recording and this is an all-analog copy of that - quite the bargain for €45!)

Sounds absolutely spectacular!!! I’m enjoying the music - yes, it’s new age jazz, but with just awesome guitar work by the legendary Mr. Hackett, it’s superb.

I have that :)
As with most MFSL, it's mastered quite low, and it's also quite soft sounding. Very little edge to it. It's pleasant, but not exceptional.

Yes, it is soft. I don't agree with the Hoffman forum calling it superbly dynamic. I did hear the German 1st pressing might be better. Do you know?

Now you got me there. I have the German, French, US and UK originals, but I don't recall anything about the german specifically.
This is generally a fairly dynamic LP anyway, and most pressings will sound good. My LP rip (I think from UK orig.) is DR13.
