What's Spinning Tonight?

Prince - Graffiti Bridge - a bit of a maligned Prince album, but tbh it's sounding better now then when it was released.

In August i was in New York for work. Since I was already in America, I took some time off to visit friends in Colorado. They lived about 25 minute’s drive from PS Audio, since Paul McGowan was always so friendly on his vids and always say come visit; I thought it would be rude not to.

We drove over and spent over an hour there being shown around, we saw everything including up coming kit. They were so friendly and accommodating even though I said I did not have any PS Audio gear.
Paul was in the building but unfortunately, I did not get to meet him.

At the end of the tour, I managed to pick up some records from their Octave label, one of which I am play here.

I went with 2 friends and yes, we all got to choose many tracks.
I can’t remember all the tracks I played, but I think I started with Malia & Boris Blank – I feel it like you.

My friend Joy then chose Leonard Cohen – not sure of the track but it was a live version, Joy was emotional after the track. She turned to me and said “I get it, I get it now. I see why you spend more time listening to music rather than watching TV." She said she did not know music can sound this good.

Peter then chose Luciano Pavarotti – Nessun Dorma
I then chose Yello – Unreal
I think I finished with Marvin Gaye – Sexual Healing

They system handled everything well, except Pavarotti – Nessun Dorma. Both Peter and I said the same thing, it was screaming and screeching the track at us. Joy did not notice, she said everything sounded good to her.
I did say to the guy that was doing the demo, that the system could not handle the Pavarotti track, but he tried to say it’s maybe the stream he was using. I know what I heard; it did not do a good job of that track Peter agreed with me.

But overall, it did well with the tracks except the Pavarotti.

Thank you very much for that report - very much appreciated! Well, what can I say… it was expected… -that even a very good system does NOT do every genre good. Even the best system does some things better, and some things not so good. That’s the way it is. It also depends on the room, and how the system is tuned to handle a certain type of music. I guess this is true for most systems. In most rooms and systems, some music just sound way better then other types of music.

Cool your friend Joy enjoyed real hifi-sound! Make sure she don’t catch the sickness, as it is irreversiable, haha :D !!!
