What's Spinning Tonight?

KEXP Rega. Streaming from my phone to the in home ceiling speakers. Not audiophile but nice to have tunes.

I bought a $89 or so Fosi Audio class D amp. I plugged it into a multi channel audio splitter that goes to speakers around the house. I have it set to 2 room. 4 drivers. The Fosi plays great through it. Just.Bluetooth my phone to it. Built in DAC.

Cool !! Doesn’t ALWAYS have to be audiophile… it can be just as good when it’s not too complicated.. right?!

Original US Reprise release, purchased new in October 1968. It’s been played a few times. I remember before it went on sale Rosko (Bill Mercer) late night FM DJ on WNEW in NYC played all 4 side consecutively. View attachment 138821No commercials, just a few comments between sides. That’s when radio WAS radio. It was mesmerizing to a teenage boy furtively listening on headphones. Not quite one year later I was at Woodstock.
You showed one side… here’s the flip

This double album from 1968 is pressed with A and D sides on one disk, and B and C on the other … I played mine on a “record changer.” A, B stacked. Flip and C, D stack is ready.

Tonight when I got it out I had forgotten, but I will play it in proper order. Still on side A at the moment.

Jimi had taken lessons with Roland Gresham (senior) while in Middle Tennessee. Roland had some interesting stories about trying to teach such an unconventional player.

I played so many records today that it is my head that’s spinning tonight ;)

But this is on right now :)

I would know that price sticker, anywhere! I indulged my desire to work at a (used) record store in the early 00's and did so there nights and weekends for almost two years grading incoming records and CD's. It was great fun... ...but, I barely made a dime; routinely blew my paycheck. If it was my career job, I would be divorced and homeless.

In the audioroom right now☝:

Yello - You Gotta Say Yes To Another Excess, from 1983, on CD.

Played back on my SONY - XA20ES, which is used as a transport, then via optical interconnect into my DAC, the KRELL EVO-707 processor / preamp. Enjoy :) !

On the SL-1200G right now☝:

S G Lewis - AudioLust & HigherLove, from 2023. Two LP’s on black vinyl at 33rpm.

Pitched up +3% to get that super ”floor-filler-feel” to it, and played back in simulated 7.4 surround sound. So much fun!

Hard to sit still - I tell you☝ :D !!!
