I was watching the movie ”The Green Mile” this afternoon.. It had some pretty good soundtrack. I got caught in the 1940’s and 50’s… so now streaming in the audioroom ☝:

Eddy Howard - The Best Of - It’s No Sin, originally from 1940-58. This compilation album is from 2014. Enjoy :) !

This is another Cal Collins released two years later (1981). Herb Ellis, a much more well known guy, joins him. This was a Concord Jazz Festival collaboration. Side 1 starts with Besame Mucho. Side 2 ends with Limehouse Blues. You won’t be disappointed with what’s in between. Another great part of Cal’s legacy.

On the Ascona Neo right now☝:

Ulf Wakenius - Taste Of Honey, from 2020, together with Lars Danielsson and Magnus Öström, on black vinyl at 33rpm.

Acoustical instrumental musik at it’s best. The sound on this album is truly amazing and totally mesmerizing. Highly recommended ;) !

This one is from 1978. Like Charlie Christian, Cal was “discovered” by Bennie Goodman. This may have been his first solo release. He was 45 years old. He’d been playing professionally in Indiana and Ohio for about 25 years when BG took an interest in him. This album makes you wonder why it took so long.
