Dave and the R&D team created those damping devices over the past few years. They are used primarily in the Music Room and by R&D. They are not secret but they were not meant to be a product either.

Interesting. I must have missed them on the trip to Provo.

Actually Lee you were looking right at them. They are similarly shaped to other things. But the finish is unmistakably Wilson.

To be fair, there is a VPI block on the VTL 6.5.

Having sat after their formal demo and listened to some familiar music. They are amazing. They layer the musicians and present a sound stage that is gigantic. They are much better than the sasha 2 in many ways. That being said they are supposed to be. I can see them flying out of Utah at a fast rate . Damn near Alexia2 performance, at almost half the cost !

Our pair arrived earlier this week, and I've been enjoying them ever since!

Tried first with the D'Agostino, and now I'm using the Audio Research REF 160M, in triode mode no less :)

These are truly high-efficiency speakers, and empirically, they sound even more efficient than the (already pretty efficient) Alexia Series 2! A client actually thought we had broken the meters on the D'Agostinos, as the music was fairly loud and they just were not moving!

I would like to hear that speaker comparison on the 160M amplifiers.

DAW and AR Ref 160M made a very good combination when I heard them recently.

Ron,

Our Sasha DAW are set up and ready to rock, with the REF 160M as well. As usual, you're welcome to come any time and check them out!

Martin Colloms of Hi Fi Critic posted his very informative take on the Wilson Audio Sasha DAWs:

https://www.absolutesounds.com/pdf/main/press/HFC_June19_WA_SashaDaw.pdf

"With experience of a number of W/P systems over the years, I felt the Sasha DAW was immediately differentiated from past examples by a greater neutrality, and also showed greater homogeneity
and less of that historic, mildly theatrical ‘go-for-it’ character."

For wilson specialists. When I compare weight of the sasha, v1 =90kg, v2 93kg, daw 108kg. So an increasing of 20% and is not much bigger. An idea of explanation ?

Thanks for the link Alex. As usual, Collums is on point.

How many hours to break in the sasha daw, an idea ?

No experience with the DAW, but I would say that the XLFs needed about one week playing all the time, mostly chamber music as advised by Wilson Audio. Perhaps the few times I played the frightening Purist Audio System Enhancer CD also helped!

It was a few years ago, but I remember that the Sonus Faber Aida's took much longer to burn-in.

Does anyone know if the OP bought a pair of the DAWs?

Tried to send a PM, but it was blocked.

Thicker, stiffer X-material in the DAW may account for some of that. X is dense and heavy.
