Lampizator DSD DAC

One of my other dacs is an MSB stack. It's a great dac but the lampi makes it sound Mech if that makes sense
Every other recti I own , heard or tried all vary in sound texture but not all sound better than the msb but almost all expose its MECH sound
The better of the recti improve the texture of the sound
The tak improves the texture greatly while giving it a bigger deeper stage as well
I wish I could explain better what I hear but words are hard for me.
Hearing the vast improvement in sound with the tak is easy lol.
When you true your new cables go back and forth after a few days with the new ones installed and playing
At this point your brain can better asses the changes
Please post than. I use a basic cable.
Mogami gold mic cables.

Mogami gold mic cables.

I used Mogami gold mic before for stereo. I need longer XLR and the most affordable ones are Mogami. Neutral, pleasant sounding cable, killer price. I later changed it to Acoustics Zen Absolute Silver 5m xlr. I still use so many Mogami gold mic for my home cinema setup. They run from Trinnov Altitude 32 to ATI 6007. I don't use DB25 connector because the ATI amp is not equipped with DB25 input. In overall, there are 8 channels using Mogami, 7 speakers 1 sub.

Great cable. My run was 50 feet to cross overs then 25 feet to each tower amp plus short between bass and mud cross overs.
I re did my room equipment it's now 25 feet from preamp to Cross overs. Cheap considering how they sound. Please post how it sounds some time.

Glad to know that Al..let's wait for your comment on the Tak 300B..I was wondering how different they're compared to PX-4. :)

It a too son to be on point with the tak 300 b. But after about three hours of burning all three tubes the combo is nice. Not as heavy as a Kron px25 . Less low level, details , but a bit thinner and more neutral . Now with headphones it's fantastic . On my speakers so far the Kron px25 is tops.
Does anyone have the px25 here ? That tube has such a low noise floor I can hear vocals breathing at times. Same with the new tak 300 b tubes .

I also filed a claim against PriceJapan with PayPal and received a full refund. PriceJapan never responded to a single email from me or Paypal.

Thanks for the heads up on Jack having the Taks in stock. Look forward to hearing your thoughts on the Tak 274B?

Tonight I'll try to get a better handle on the nos we 274b and the tak. These are the two top ones. It's a bit of drop after these two. And I know how good the DAC sounds with others I have them too. But these two add levels of staging and texture way above the others. Consider this if we increase staging it's nice but with these two tubes the staging increases but the sound matches the increase staging in proportion . Sings move back , instruments become more about being there in ways that just put you there in front of the group.

Hi any issues with Amtrans and is that different from price Japan?

Hi Germanboxers, I have checked with the manufacturer, their only dealer in Japan is Amtrans. They don't know PriceJapan or how that company work. My friend works in Tokyo and he helped me to contact the manufacturer. So basically, these tubes are not always available at all time. If we contact Amtrans, they will need to check with Tak. If stock is ready, Amtrans will get them for you faster. If not, sometimes, it will take about a few weeks. Tak manufacturer doesn't sell directly to customers.

So if you're looking for Tak, it's better to contact Amtrans instead. Based on my experience with Tak 274B, I can not agree more, go ahead and try. My GG is a balanced version with KR PX-4.

Your GG sounds like a really good setup there!

Thanks, Ferrox...I ordered a Tak from Woo Audio. Hope to receive it before the weekend, but no guarantees, just hope. I'm running KR Audio 300B Balloons in my single ended GG. I also like the EML 45 Anniversary Globes in my setup, not so much the WE replica 101D's. For rectifiers I've settled on the Phillips 5r4gys. I also have a gec U52 and an RCA 5u4g, but neither worked all that well in my setup. Looking forward to the Tak being the one!

Germanboxers, not sure why, but I believe, you would love the Tak 274B. Give it sometime to fully run in. :)

All the Tak owners love it. AL says it and NOS WE 274b are undisputed heavyweight champs of the world. LoL.

The best backup recti is the KR5u4g annoversary as it will outlast all others by a factor of 10, due to the much higher vacuum seal. Get these 2 and it seems all your worties are put behind you.

However, I still love my Philips metal base GZ34 and RCA JAN WW2 5r4gy. Brimar 5r4gy and Haltron double mica as well. The latter inescare a LOT cheaper.

Wisnon, I wonder how many type of recti's can we use? I am reading so many now. :(

All of the 5v rectis with 5 pins.
5u4g, 274b, 422a, 5r4gy,gz34 (5AR4), gz37, U52, 5y3gt, 5z4, 5v4 (GZ32), (many of these have 2 codes, like CV17xx or the like...)
Many also are of the same class but with vastly different construction, like the Haltron/Zaerix/Fivre 5r4gy with double mica or the WW2 RCA Jan5r4gy with the downward sloping double D getter.

The Tak and the WE Nos 274b are the most expensive, but also seem to be the favourites of those who tried many kinds.

Hi Wisnon, thanks! I'm banging my head on the wall...so many!!! :(

I have been out of the loop for a bit dealing with family medical stuff (my 2.5 year old had surgery) and work, but should post more in the coming months.

Who makes the claim on the higher vacuum stuff? You got a Brimar 5R4GY with D/box getters? Good stuff. That Haltron double mica comes in about 10-12 different brand names. I have also seen one version of it as a 5R4GYB. I like that tube a lot and it usually trades in the $50 or below category.

I do like the TAK 300Bs. I bought a used pair a year or so ago. They have a great, deep sound. I have another tube or two I am trying to decide on after making adapters. More to come on that. I will say that I don't get into many new tubes, but the Taks are really awesome.
