Looking over China now through satellite images we see the level of pollution dramatically reduced, to none, zero ...

And you're right Barry about the global economy, this is not business as usual ...
https://www.cnbc.com/amp/2020/02/29...prepare-war-rooms-as-coronavirus-spreads.html

https://business.financialpost.com/...se-s-korea-plants-after-confirmed-virus-cases

Thanks Bob
The reductions in air pollution should help with with combatting the outbreak but the pollution problem will remain at least in the immediate future.
We have now had 12 new confirmed cases bringing our total to 35. Seems to be reasonably under control for now but still uncertain scenario.

Today is March 1st here where I am and it's Bob's birthday (75), a very good friend.
The sun is up, the leaves are coming up and back east they're under a blanket of snow.

I didn't check the news this morning, the air feels fresh outside, it's gorgeous.
Catch up later, be all well.

I just finished talking to Bob wishing him a Happy Birthday.
He told me that his friend told him that chickens ate bats in China @ that fish market and that's how we're @ today ...
I had to check it out ...

Anyway, bats seem to be the main culprits but another host in contact with bats (chickens, pigs, whatever ...) was acting as the middleman (middleanimal) in transferring the Coronavirus to humans. ...From China to everywhere on the planet...all continents except Antarctica.

On other fronts ...

Live updates: Coronavirus was probably spreading for six weeks in Washington state, study says; Rhode Island announces first likely case

And ... Coronavirus Miracle?

Happy Birthday Bob

Have a fun day

He's a fantastic man Steve, an ex-pro golfer and still golfing.
He just told me an exceptional thing that just happened to him today; he got a phone call this morning @ 8:00 AM from his godmother who is 98 to wish him Happy Birthday. He didn't talk to her for about fifty years! He was deeply moved.

I was reading this ...

The CDC outlined an ominous hypothetical scenario about what could happen in the US as the coronavirus spreads. Here's what to expect.

https://www.businessinsider.com/wha...navirus-spreads-america-cdc-prediction-2020-2

And quote ...

"Unfortunately, monitoring symptoms might not be enough. On Monday, Chinese researchers reported that a person could transmit the coronavirus without showing any symptoms. One woman from Wuhan, China, transmitted the coronavirus to five family members despite getting clear scans and never becoming ill herself."

One of the looming problems for the US is that there aren't enough face masks for healthcare workers, according to Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar.

The US has 30 million face masks, but it needs another 270 million, he said on Tuesday.

The CDC doesn't recommend that uninfected people wear masks, but they're worthwhile for people who have coronavirus symptoms and healthcare workers treating sick people."

_____

But, if a person could transmit the Coronavirus without showing any symptoms how can the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention - USA) doesn't recommend "uninfected" people to wear masks, if they cannot know if they are infected or uninfected!

That's one aspect of why the medical scientists said that the US is not ready; they need a lot of quality masks in large supplies for everyone.

China took some radical steps to minimize/reduce the spread; they locked people in their apartment buildings by soldering their doors! ...If this is accurate.

Lol... with respect to all our fabulous former partners. Off topic and heading back to audio for just an instance...had the strangest experience with upgrading (?) an Ethernet cable tonight. No names...but have never had such a bad experience with adding a fancy specialist cable over stock. It was compleeeeetly over emphatic. It made music just absolutely unenjoyable and unnatural. Auditioning at home is a critical must for sure... Returning you now to the coronavirus.

It would appear that the widely stated death rate of 2-3% for this coronavirus is likely overestimated, perhaps by a huge amount. Already the CDC in Washington state (it’s coming your way, Bob) is suggesting that it is similar to a severe influenza epidemic, except that many more people infected by CoVid-19 are not sick or only mildly ill (rarely the case with influenza).

I know it's coming everywhere Robert, it already is here and it's not going away soon ...
